I am very excited for the FCT, and OIlleaker is giddy as a schoolgirl as well . One week away, weather will be perfect . Today I washed the Dodge, cleaned the radiator fins of dead bugs ect., changed oil, washed out the bedliner and am ready to load. The 2A is getting it's oil changed right now, and will get the top removed for the long trailer ride to BV. Parts pile is not complete yet but will be loaded next weekend. Trailer is all checked out and ready to go. The "Rudy can" is in the pile as well as 5 very nice 15" rims for Sir Tim if he still wants them (PM sent). Extra oil, antifreeze, gear oil, grease gun and grease.................. Oh, the jerky will be packaged tonight. What am I forgetting ?. Lee

Oilleaker, I am very concerned of the condition of your liver, all this talk of drinking , Hazeldon is just down the road 14 miles, perhaps you would like a brochure . Most of your favorite brands I have never heard of so I may find some common to our area to share. No hot tub, people pee in them , perhaps there is a hot spring in the area . Lee

I remember the feeling! I actually couldn't believe I was going last year! It was one of my "Life's Best Moments" . I will never forget it. When I got on the Plane, I remember thinking....This is actually happening! Then to meet all of the people I had been conversing with on the 2A pages. That was a Special treat! Again...General Leaker, and Captain Leemeister! Take good care of Sir Hawkridge, and Mrs. Hawkridge! (If they ever come to Charleston, SC, I can repay them for there hospitality!!) Make sure you shake Sir Bruce "The Stuff" W's hand for me! He is top shelf! He also stashes Beers... M38 Mike, and M38 Mum ! Are the BEST! Make sure that they do not pay for their dinner at the outing into town. Promise !? If Lew Ladwig is present, Hug him for me. Go on the night ride with JPet! He knows the ropes! Fantastic meeting him as well! Maybe his Son is there...He is Awesome Too! Rudycon is your Brother here. That means he gets special treatment as well!
I hope I covered it all! I will probably dream of this tonight! And that should be a Good thing!

Today I replaced the shoes on one more wheel. Two more to go. I also did a shake down run in ODie. Everything seems to be working well. Going to do an oil change on my truck and Rachel's 4Runner tomorrow. I'll be down to brakes for two wheels, and packing the spare parts kit.
The days are ticking away.

Those are cool shots Haines! I think that is the first time Bruce W looked cold. Lee , it's OK to share with Haines on the Jerky. He did sell me out quickly in order to get some, but I'll forgive him. I was thinking of water torture and tying him up and not releasing him until he said Willleeassse, but what the heck, all in good fun. Since you are selling Jeep parts and making money instead of spending, you have to haul the ladies stuff back home when they spend all your profit. Yep time to spend the week getting the Jeep and pickup up and ready for sure. Oil PS, my liver is fine and my experience with alcohol is such that I enjoy the memory, but after a couple, I usually just carry around a empty----Ha!

Several things have come up since last night. 1) My intent was not to sell parts as this is a pleasure trip, but rims and 1/2 cabs are expensive to ship and I am going with more trailer deck than Jeep so everyone wins on this . Ok that being said, all that leads into #2, I have Oilleakers crated GPW on the trailer (on the front) and the 2A will have the back spot, all good right!, NOPE, I now have a 1/2 cab to bring and do not want to strap it to the top of the GPW crate as it will chew up the NOS crate boards and greatly hinder the value of a cherished piece of history, so unfortunately I have unloaded the GPW and the 1/2 cab will take it's place and poor Oilleaker will miss his window of opportunity at a free crated GPW , Damn he has bad luck . 3) Oilleaker I would not mess with the Haines, if he should free himself from your torture he may overcome you and brand you with his "WiLL-IS" branding iron (made of brass), right over your heart!, It doesent get any more real than that! . 4) no real profit in parts sales , as the gas bill will wipe that out in a hurry , and Diana has a job she may buy whatever she wants , She has never said a bad word of anything I have drug home or complained of it . It's always a good idea to get the Jeep out of hibernation and drive it some before you leave on a trip with it. Dempsey, my '49 CJ3A showed up with a new noise. The speedo was talking and jerking the needle around on my way into town. Had to pull it before I wrecked it. All is well though, it just needed some lube in the rear drive. Now will grease all and do a oil/filter change, and PM the rest. I'll have my back seat in and will help if someone needs a ride. Dress warm, no top back there. I can open up the back curtain though, it's a canvas strap type top with turnbuckle rear curtain. I most likely will have it off. I don't want to miss any colors and to keep up with BruceW, (impossible) I don't want any wind resistance. Once there, it won't matter which side of the force you are on since we are JEEPING!!!!!!!!!!!! Get to see Electro Willys! Cool. I will miss any of you guys that aren't there. Life is too short. See the world ----------from a Willys. Oil

I have my top off for the ride, and packed in the truck. My spare parts showed up from MWM today so the parts can get packed. Jeep is ready for the trailer. Interesting thought last night in the garage, this will be the longest trip this Jeep has been on since the trip from Toledo, OH, to Minneapolis in 49 . Also the last time this Jeep was on a trailer was in 1988................ and I am excited . Lee
