I'm leaving my top on for the haul. Behind a pickup camper, wind resistance isn't a issue. Last trip to Colo. I got into rain and mud. Had to wash both sides of the windshield to see. This way----only one. I figure the doors windows will get screwed up jiggling on something too. I launch early Sunday AM to be there for the fun. M38Mike says the early days will be the most challenging trails and the later ones will be more lame as the group gets bigger. I'll lock on to Bruce's bumper and then I know if I can make it or not. Well, that probably won't work, I'll have to winch up to Bruce. Ha! Oil

Rolling in 11 1/2 hours! I'll miss you guys so bad, I'll have to have a few beers to calm my loneliness! I'll have to breathe that 9000 foot clear cool clean air. Nothing to see but mountains, valleys, and streams. Once over the tree line, it will be jacket time. Most likely, windshield down on the trails, up on the highway. Time for Jeeps boys! Oilly |

All loaded up, and road tested, but..............................I started the pickup to back it out of the garage and an unfamiliar noise was coming from under the hood     . Seems the alternator has a bad bearing . So off to the Irish auto supply and $190 later I have a new one. Will install in the morning . Better now than later! . Oilleaker and Bruce will be south bound in the morning. jpet is well on his way and I will follow Monday!. I picked up a box of Linenkugels Oktoberfest beer for you guys to try. Lee |

Oil, Looks to me you'll reach Denver around 11am or so? If I can get out of here by 10, maybe we could meet up and travel the rest of the way together. I wouldn't want you to get lost. And NO, don't tell me you don't think you can keep up with me either!

Brakes are done on ODie. I did a break in run today. I'll do final adjustments and bleeding tomorrow. Oil changes are done on my truck and Rachel's 4Runner.
Parts kit is gathered and just needs to be packed.
I'm getting pretty pumped up for this. Looks like the weather is going to be perfect for lots of "windshield down" time.
Nothing better than crushing the Rockies with an unobstructed view.
