Lee: "Cute" isn't exactly what I had in mind for a winch on my rough and tumble Studebillys, but alas, *sigh* it is a cute winch. Maybe we can at least call it "fun sized?" In all seriousness, it probably is a good size for a little cj2a. Not big enough to tear up the frame.

Nice score . Your winch is missing the freewheeling lever. The mounting bracket would be easily fabricated, if you do a search on the 3A page I believe there is info there. The PTO shaft is also easily made from cold rolled round stock, just cut to length and have the keyways cut. Herm the OD guy has PTO boxes and the OD adapter. The actual M-38 winch is a Ramsey and a very expensive one if you can find one. Lee

I'm told the freewheeling lever exists but it was accidentally excluded from the shipment. It should be arriving at a later date.
I better start saving my pennies for Herm....

An old Koenig no? Looks pretty much like the one I had on my CJ6 way back in 69 or 70. Worked real good until you stalled out in a creek!! LOL Other than that, they pull a lot more than the electric, and no draw on the battery! If you can keep her running, you can winch it right up in a tree!!
