Mooose, of coarse I do, as I started the thread, I thought of you and that WC and the fact you would be the first to post a photo of a "Non Flatfender" winch, "Gotcha" ;D Schimmmms, Merry Christmas! A 1960 truck winch should fit your truck, Very cool , A complete setup will bring $500-$1000, on e-bay, anything less than that would be a very good deal. Condition wise, if it turns and all the levers do as they should it's fixable, if visable issues are present use that as a bargaining tool, and whats your time worth?, all factors in price. Lee

You have to extend the frame/bumper on a pickup I think to fit one in. Does the winch come with the bumper add on? A pickup with a winch is harder to find than a CJ. I now think you should give up on this idea. Can you send me the guys contact info. ;D John

John tell u what. I'm going to look at it/ buy it next week. My dad is going with me and he doesn't seem to think its a good idea of buy. So if it keeps going that way I will be selling a winch in a few weeks.

I'd have to V-8 the jeep to haul the extra weight! ;D. Drove mine to breakfast last Sunday and made a huge mistake. It was 15 degrees and the highway was running water. When I came out, the whole truck was white with salt. I felt so bad that I immediately went to my shop and washed every square inch of him. After you replace all that rusted metal, you get anal about it. If you give up on the winch, haul it out here in June and I'll entertain you! Life always gets in the way until you retire. Then you run out of time and can't do things you used to. Stupid stuff huh? I'm glad I can still play with jeeps. Good clean fun. Have a good holiday Luke! John

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure how the PTO is controlled on a pickup. If you buy it, get all the stuff. PTO, shafts, fairlead, extension etc. Having a winch is like having a more manly physique! ;D John

John, craigslist souix falls has a willys truck with a ramsey on it, the pto works the same as a flatty but the drive on the t/c has less of a drop to it, I sold a Koehing twin stick last fall, I find it hard to believe you do not find any out your way for a truck/wagon, I have passed on many around here over the years, far more common than a CJ winch here. Hey guys, go to ebay and look at the Jeep pickup that just popped up in Bozeman Mt. The body is supreme! Looks like 5 thousand original miles. I need two more things. A bigger shop and a bigger wallet. So many Jeeps, so little time. I'm going to be sick now------- John

Went and looked at it Lee. I figured you had to extend the bumper. Now that I think about it, mine does have a round access plate behind the shift tower for a PTO lever. Sad part is the more you look at Jeeps, they all start looking good. Reminds me of when I was in college. We'd sit by the dorm cafeteria door while eating and watch the gals come in. The gals did it too. Not a good thing to do. (like looking at Jeeps all day). Anyway, one day the gals held up cards numbered 1 through 10 and rated the guys. I'd rate the Sioux Falls pickup a 7 because the winch looks manley! ;D ;D John

Soooooooooo John,,,,,,,,,,you a 1 or a 10 ;D........The SD, CL truck looked ok but I am Thrifty (thrifty is a pleasant word for CHEAP), A little spendy, I have owned one Willys truck, purchased at an auction, and parted out, it was a rust bucket, but had a factory installed dump box, very rare, also had a plow setup but was missing the plow, I did well on that one . I was a -1. . The college was Vermillion, and at that time it was rated in the top 10 party schools by Playboy magazine. My GPA suffered that year. Lots of memories.

I think it is a Braden PTO winch? It is small. It is crammed into a largely customized mount. I can't find any ID anywhere on it. The drive side looks "ramsey" but the dog tooth clutch side looks "Braden?" I don't think it is a Ramsey 50(r). This Jeep was (well) used for hunting in a previous life. Welded spider gears in the rear, gun rack between the seats, game rack on the back bumper. I would say "bubba" but the weld quality is very good. As with most Jeeps, this one was modified with what was available to suit a particular need. This PTO winch setup could be largely homebuilt. I can't tell if the open chain PTO is hand made or not! Sorry about photo quality. Check out the cottered roller chain. Any info would be appreciated.
