If you like Jeeps, driving Jeeps, meeting your friends, enjoying a wonderful experience, joking, eatting, sleeping, breathing, then you must come. It's only a week. Leave all the other peoples problems and give it a rest. Do something fun and relaxing. Forget the rest of the world. Come to the little oasis in western SD. Where the great spirit lives. Where gold is found. See Devils Tower and Mount Rushmore. Smell the Ponderosa Pine. White Spruce, Cool clear streams. Joust with the knights. Pull out your buddies stuck Jeep. Weld it. Adjust it. Drive it. Go have some fun. Why not? I hope you will. All who frequent these pages and are reading this: Come. Don't put it off. Do it. We will have extra seats that need filling. Sit in them and go for a ride of your life. Maybe not as spectacular as the Rockies, but the Black Hills have their own personal charm. Easier to get around. A well liked place. The air is clean and fragrant. Sounds of the forest are pleasing. History abounds. Even General George Armstrong Custer and General Crook were here. Right at my home even. It hasn't changed all that much since 1874. Let me know if you think you can do this. Oilly

Long drive in a Flatty to the Greasy Grass. 140 years and it hasn't changed much. You can feel what it was like. Just no roads or white men there at that time. It would be a Damn long drive for you Jimbo! Oilly

We'll see. I don't have the best respects for Genl. Custer. You otherwise. We'll see what happens between now and then.

I feel better now that I know you are coming Studewillys! What kind of plywood would you like to sleep on? Oilly I'm not kidding, I've personally seen him in action doing this. I'm pretty sure I can find a better set up for you. I'd feel real bad if I didn't.

New agenda idea: take Wed or Thurs., my 1971 Deuce and my 1951 M37 and drive them to see Mount Rushmore. Your own private guided tour. Spend the day as tourists and see the most amazing National Monument in the world. I kid you not. What a fun time. Just bring earplugs is all. Ellsworth is noisey but cool. Options while there is the Iron Mountain Road that has pigtail bridges and tunnels, Holy Terror Gold mine Tours, and a bunch of Keystone eattin establishments. What say you? I'm all excited again. Sounds like a blast! I got 1st call-out for designated driver of the M37 (if that's an option). I'd rather have you at the helm than Hawkridge, he tried to throw me through the windshield in th M37 last year, took several HBR's to recover.

Jeff, Rapid City Regional Airport. About 60 miles from ground zero. You'll be in good hands with Muleskinner. He will be limited to how much consumption before hand. Once back to base----------------------I'll let the Captain mix 'em. Then grounded for the evening. By the way, he is the designated M37 driver. Oilly

Me an Moosey talked about this - it'd be way less expensive to drive, PLUS that way we could make HG ride on the roof or on the hood. In a plane they'd give him a chair! Course we could also trace HG's railroading exploits from last year ... I'm sure all those hobos he met last year would be so happy to see him again!

Imagine all the time it took to stage the photos of his various locations while riding the imaginary train. Riding up and shift driving is a good idea. You could make some wild videos I would think. Oilly

I will talk to the manager/owner of The Iron Horse Motel on Tues. Currently, it's a regular 74.95 / night. Last year the group rate was 65.00 wasn't it? How many plan on staying there? Maybe we can get 65.00 again. oilly

Oily can do what he wants, but in my world, no stickers, no hats, no t-shirts for anyone not attending! "Been there, done that, got the T-shirt", you gotta been there an done that to get the T-shirt! I'll take one sticker, and I'll take possession in Whitewood! BW

I see your point Bruce. Friends who can't but want to come, well, I won't hold that against them. They sure support it. Friends are what it's all about. It continues after the fact and also gives people a goal or something to look forward to. Work towards, plan, scheme, but in the end, they are here in heart and spirit. They do miss a great experience. If they have never heard your bull horn on Uncle Linden, they missed a good laugh. The cows like you too! LOL, Oilly
