Now being a Texas boy you ought to be be careful about insulting your South Kakalacki Brethren with a term used primarily in your state.

You guys aren't helping. Well, some of you are. Rick, Rudycon, Lee all offered good solid opinions and even an offer for a ride. Thanks to you all. The rest of you...off topic once again. It's all good though. Carry on.
Rudycon, I appreciate the offer, but if I decide to come, I'll want to bounce out pretty quickly after the Saturday ride.
This decision will be a last minute deal.

Tim I am going to be very bold here. I love you like a brother . You have the motor pulled.. Rebuild that !!! Fully. You might even have a. Flaw in your rear cap . There is no way a 70 year old engine is still tight and functioning perfectly. Don't get mad, get glad . I am just saying what you already know.

Detard, no Penguins in North Dakota, other than maybe a Zoo. They come from the South Pole, and cannot fly, really not sure of there purpose in this world.
Rick (the Idaho one), what does a Mule Skinner do ?, skin mules, or is that a term that means something else, never heard of a mule butcher shop. Now Goat roper, that's a polite term for stump broke..... A Cat skinner, that's what the old timers called a dozer operator...... "F" I am once again off topic, whatever the topic was ?.
Rick (the NC one) what the heck is a Kackalaki, just trying to learn here.

He probably stole it from the truck drivers. Reminds me of a favorite phrase I've often heard from truck drivers from the DEEP South. "Keymoon beek." Take a guess at the translation for it.

Rick (the Idaho one), what does a Mule Skinner do ?, From the terms Skinflint or Con, a Muleskinner is one that can "skin" or con a mule into doing what he wants him to do. If you can get a mule to think what you want him to do is "his" idea it's all good-if not, well you're screwed. You may still get him to work but not at the same level as a willing mule.

Haven't heard the WC in awhile (3 months?) so I cranked her and listened to her this afternoon.
Came inside, ate dinner and then hit foam golf balls at the kids while they swam afterwards.

What did I get for missing the Northern CO run?
This is a 1944 GPW engine
Saturday work.....
Pulled crank. Pulled pistons. Pulled head. Cleaned engine top. Cross honed cylinders. Scrubbed cylinders about 50 times. Cleaned pistons...these were surprising clean and in good shape. By the way...found broken top rings in #3 and #4. Installed new standard size rings after checking gap. Set rear main seal. Cleaned and set the crank and timing chain.
Sunday work...
Installed pistons. Cleaned and installed the head. Then had many "Honey Do's" to accomplish.
I wish I could have done the NCR, but I needed to do what I did.

Always drink a six pack before firing it up. It calms my nerves and makes me believe how good I am at driving it. Impresses the Highway Patrolman also.
