Hi Chuck, it's been a little busy around here. Willys is almost finished, with luck it will be in the Black Hills in June. Friday has come and gone guess this wasn't the Friday to pick up the block. One must remember it is better to be pissed off than pissed on.

Just drive by there each day on the way to work, and honk the horn and wave nicely!!! It shouldn't take too long till the motor is sitting out front for you!!

The machinist called yesterday at 3pm had me pickup the block and lower end. Said the head should be done sometime this week. With any luck it will be together before the black hills run. If work doesn't get in the way, jobs have a way of messing up plans.

Isn't there some of that jeep finishing work goes on at Mike's FTC. Maybe that's what Lee is referring to. Sort of like bringing a jig-saw puzzle to the rally to work on at night just for fun!!

It's just not Keith's fault! Life is tough when you have an engine rebuilder that doesn't understand "yesterday"!! Hopefully he can "get er done", and make it over to Leaker Land!!

>:(The engine and transmission are setting on the motor mounts in the frame. It is possible to bolt the transmission to the engine without a clutch allignment tool. Get it close with the pressure plate, leave it a little loose install the transmission you might have to get a little western with it, but it will go. Remove the clutch inspection plate and torque the pressure plate bolts. Do not over tighten the damn little things or they will twist off. If they do twist off remove the transmission and pressure plate take size smaller reverse (left hand ) drill and back the broken bolt out. Be careful not to knock over the completed engine when removing the transmission. There are several small steel oil lines that will break off and or smash completely. Other things will bend and or break, that can add lots of time and curse words to the project. It should be running tomorrow or the next day. OR NOT. I WILL BE AT LEAKER LAND!

Took the Yellow scourge to the Black Hills run with 20 miles on the engine. Ran great used no oil didn't over heat, drove like a new one. I really had a great time met some fantastic people. Binthere showed up from CANADA had a Willys from Florida. No one showed from SC, what's the deal HG. ? How long are you gonna milk this restoration gig?

I've been cleaning and organizing the shop after getting the Willys running for the Black Hills. There sure seems to be a bunch of fasteners and small parts left. Not real sure where they all went. I don't think anything has fallen off, that I've noticed. It seems to run ok the brakes work, I can't imagine there's that many extras you don't need.

If your like me Keith, you must label all parts and keep them in a safe place in case you need to put them back at a later date!! And by the way, make note to self as to where the safe place is!! You KNOW what I mean! LOL

I have 519 miles in the F head. Runs great uses no oil doesn't smoke, has plenty of power, no overheating problems. When I park it and it sets overnight there is puddle of coolant under the engine. The drivers side of the engine is wet from the head gasket seeping. The head was torqued and retorqued and torqued again. The next thing is trying a new head gasket, the last one was copper. Going to try a fiber one this time, any ideas for a good gasket sealant? Want to get this taken care of before I start the next project.

Did you seal the copper gasket or install dry? Even with a copper gasket I'll spray copper sealant on it. You might want to take a closer look at the top of the block and the bottom of the head for gouges, scratches and check them both for flatness.
