How the Hell do you do anything in that garage! ,,,,,,,,,,,, Far too clean, and nothing to trip over . If the 3B doesn't work out , I could use it . Lee

I think the B will work out, hope to have it done in time for the Black Hills. Garage isn't that clean you just kick the crap out of the way before you take the picture. The floor covers the po paint job. That guy had to be the ultimate Bubba. Don't know what he painted the flop with. couldn't clean it tried scraping paint off tried chemicals finally gave up and covered it.

First Grump, white wide spoked powdercoated wheels look the best, and then buy a good set of tires made from 100% nylon in India. A chrome rollbar in 4 inch tube with KC lights on it next. Then a set of those hard plastic racing buckets bolted to the top of original Jeep bottoms with the tops cut off and thrown away. Drill a hole in the bottom or your butt will get wet. A 3 inch lift by spring overing the axles will get a good angle on the u joints. Then saginaw used chevy pickup steering and a chrome chain steering wheel. Digital instruments next----just cut a wide square hole in the dash to mount it. Glue bright blue indoor/outdoor carpet to all the interior including the dash. A plywood or OSB hardtop for the winter. Dark black tinted windows, and don't forget the 21 disc CD player with boom box. Chrome swivel mount cup holders up high bolted through the windshield skin so they are a easy reach. 4 point harness. Side chrome exhaust pipes that curve up near the door so you can hear the engine better at 10,000 RPM's. Huge electric winch would be cool with pink rope on it. Oh, large square Ford pickup tail lights on the back with a chrome nerfbar bumper for looks. You should blend in well after that. Did I forget anything? oilly

8DJust got off JC Whitney web site got that custom stuff ordered, and shipped. Plus a few other items. Didn't know if the spring over lift would be enough so I ordered an extended shackle kit. Can't get enough clearance.

When you get it all done, we'll find a nice 1000 ft. dropoff and see how she holds up. I so glad you remembered the chrome chain license plate surround. It gives off a nice glow in the sun when the back panel is vertical going down the cliff. Did they magnaflux your block? Sure looked good to me, but you never know. I've had all the Jeep Crack my body and wallet can stand. Oil

Don't know working again I leave @ 5a & return @8 or 9 p. Haven't heard from Jerry he said he'd call when he got it checked out. He chuckled when we unloaded it, he said he's never seen any of those that hasn't been worked on.

Oilleaker....................Why oh why would you have a boom box in the Jeep ........You well know the torch or a jigsaw was invented to cut a radio hole in the dash! and preferably one with an 8 track player!. Plus you need to drill in 25 toggle switch holes in the dash as well. You also forgot the 3" diameter air filter for the carb, it's not a Jeep without that!. Lee

3" diameter air cleaner!!! Hell yeah!!! Guar-an-teeeed to give you a 1.134533443% HP increase, but, that's only if you get a chrome one and secure it to the carb with 2" long self tapping screws through the air horn to get the added swirl effect!

One must "upgrade" or "improve" that old Jeep. Those engineers don't know what people want----------duh. That's all it is now, people comforts and forget the mechanic that has to fix it. I'd like to have a talk with those engineers and explain ( beat) some information about what I think of their ideas. What it all boils down to is " it just doesn't matter". All you can do is build something you prefer and let the bankers, lawyers, and insurance men make a living off the new stuff that people take out a loan to buy and never pay for it. Just keep paying interest and buy another. Crazy world out there. Grumpy is just pulling our chain anyway. He plans a pretty stock Jeep from what I've seen. If he wants modern, he's already got it. I can hear him snickering out there in the middle of a windswept pasture right now! Get Er done! Oilly

So is there a difference between "Self Tapping" screws and drywall screws . Personally I do not mess with the screws, holes to be drilled/screwdrivers a lot of trouble , lot easier to just weld everything , and turn it up so it burns through quite a bit, ya'know, we want 150% penetration and lots of dingleberries for character right!

LOL!
I was trying to find a clip of a King of the Hill episode, the one where Lucky is talking about this truck and says "Sometimes the world is cruel to shiny things". But YouTube doesn't share my sense of humor...
Anyways, back to changing oil in the wife's Cobalt...

Lee, the new boomboxes are installed so glass shop installation is easier. It vibrates the windows until it breaks the seals loose around the windows. They come right out then. As far as the drivers hearing, "affordable health care act" will pay for their hearing loss as they age, no problem there. I'm sure glad the health care system is all fixed now. Oil

Been working on the Willis the last couple days. The frame is coming along nicely. Not real sure how to determine the proper driveline angle for the spring over conversion. This has been a beautiful fall around here. Finally starting to cool off,not looking forward to winter.

Ok seriously I'm starting on the rear suspension, rear springs on this Jeep have 11 leafs each side. I think they have been modified, there are 3 thick leafs through out the pack. Is this normal or if not how should they stack?

All the same thickness is original. Someone most likely had a spring shop rebuild them. The Jeep sat level, what's the problem? Spring over? You better buy some rusty white spoke wheels to go with that! It's possible the original springs would not carry the crash Jeep tank so they beefed them up? Next you need a full wall screen in your shop showing the ocean lapping up on the beach with sound. Cover the windows though. You'll have to put on your survival suit to walk back to the house. Tunnel? Corridoor? 40 below zero sent down from Chuckie is coming. I think he calls it 40 below ciffilus. LOL Oil

That's what I like about Johnny, the lad catches on quick!! But just -40 ciffilus will work!! LOL What we say around here is that "when Trudeau changed the temperature to ciffilus, the weather has been all screwed up". Gotta hate that metric, I still play the old game and make the younger germination convert for "ME". haha By the way sir grump, I'm glad to see you getting to work on the "B". Looking forward to pictures of the progress!! Best of luck!
