Been slowly getting these done. This one came out really well. Look at that Handle. As much as I love square backed axes, I am starting to take a real shine to the double bit variety. I almost don't want to let this one go. Original finish on a A D head.

Finished a few more this evening. I tried something new with the 5 pound Plumb Single Bit. Painted it Red. 5 pound axes are hard to come buy, and even harder to swing. What do you think of the Red?

I like it. Especially the shade. Looks purposeful.

Yo, HG. Saw a Collins Legitimus machete in an antique store. I had a slight hook on the end. Any ideas?

Yo, HG. Saw a Collins Legitimus machete in an antique store. I had a slight hook on the end. Any ideas? Used by the military in the South Pacific. Very cool and the steel is awesome! One that has a good sheath, and is not all pitted up is worth $100-$150 my opinion. The slight bend would be common. These things were used and abused in the jungle. Very nice. My opinion anything marked Collins Legetimus is worth having.

The above posts inspired me to go dig out this relic. Collins (I think?) 1005. I believe WWI vintage. Not a lot of $$ value but a cool piece that has been in my family for at least a couple generations, probably longer.

Ryan that is a very cool knife can you take a picture of the actual Collins legitimus markings and put that up I'd really like to see it. Scout that's a very interesting bladed weapon you have there also could you explain more I'm guessing perhaps it's from your tour in Vietnam? Eric that is a fantastic machete I have never seen that curved point before but however if it's marked with the Collins Legitimus Mark and crown and it was reasonably priced you should probably pick it up! is there a sheath I don't see one in the picture.
