Day 1 complete! 50+ miles of smiles. 15 rigs on the trail.
Saw some cool stuff. Got to drive in tall grass on an old roadway. That was really cool. Plenty of tall tails to go with the tall grass today.
Saw lots of trail time in 4low.. I don't think I can post a picture from my phone. Might work on that later or tomorrow.

Hawky made it and ate his special super hot Supersonic! No evidence of Haines. He really didn't make it. We feel a loss. We had high hopes of copious amounts of laughter and BS. Next time, next time, I haven't given up on him. Tomorrow as Moosey states, we'll head out for day 2, with 18 Jeeps. It's Lost Gulch to Galena time. Today after I took 15 Jeeps up the wrong trail and got renamed : Lost Leaker, we ended up having a ball driving around. We were high up on a ridge with remote cabins owned by The boys from the movie Deliverence. Lee said he stood his Jeep up on the front bumper turning around with the thought of himself in a target rich environment. We did run the old 1950 highway to Deadwood, and then looked for The lost Leaker Goldmine. Sorry , no gold. Then found what I really was looking for, the Maitland Dam. Then up over the top to Wharf Resources huge Heap leach gold mine. There is just not enough time to work it all in. That's why we need a week of it. There will be a Knights toast with HBR's coming up. What's cool is I feel like it's a reunion, not a Jeep Rally. Very pleasant. If you can ever get time to do this Jeep touring, whether it's here or Colorado, or Canada, or Texas, or wherever, it's a good time. Oilly
