Love your avatar. I really think this was one of Val's best parts as Doc Holliday. Lived near the "Hole In The Wall" in Wyoming. Was really a bid valley that you could only access by a ravine between rocks. Can see it from the highway near Douglas Wyoming. I am from Ft. Laramie Wyoming. The Old Fort. Not Laramie where the University is. Ft. Laramie had a POP of only 250. Now probably less. Tombstone is one of my all time favorite movies...Always identified with Holliday

I like to see how you set up clamps and things like that. What type of welder are you using. Give me details, for I am a novice welder, at best.

Well, HG, I am a novice as well. This is my first tub repair and it is giving me loads of schooling for my next project, a real 1942 GPW body. And I also have a 1942 Script tub as well. I am using a Lincoln 110v welder with gas. Just started the gas with this project. I had used flux core before this. Gas is much nicer and easier to use.
More pictures tomorrow as I mixed up my phone with the Wife's.
I had never welded on a vehicle body before this. Just the frame.

Got the last of the hat channels for the floors in. I added the small section to the drivers side that was in the passenger side on the DJ3A. Adds a lot of extra support to the floors.

Next I had to cut a patch for the hole the PO had put in the transmission tunnel for a bubba'd brake parking lever. The panel had to have a small arc hand formed to fit before welding. Panel clamps were used to hold into place for the welding process.

Worked on the transmission tunnel today. It was different than a CJ2A and 3A as the DJ was not 4x4. Then when the PO added 4x4 he cut it up real bad. How it looked when I started today. The tunnel from my CJ2A parts tub to be used. Set in place and marked for cutout and fitment.

Welded in place. Still need to do a small section to the right and the upper left where the steering column and brake pedal go.

If it hit one more snowdrift with the plow I do believe the the chassis would have stopped but the body would have kept on going. Only two bolts held it on. And no mounting holes were lined up due to the many hits it took. It was wrinkled in place I didn't know it could be.
