They all need work unless it's been recently done. That one is quite restorable. Buying all the missing military items is very pricey. What looks like a good deal will quickly end up expensive enough, you could buy a more complete one cheaper. MB's are a little easier due to the fact the engine #'s were usually around 1000 #'s higher than the serial. GPW's were more common to have matching numbers, but hard to find. my MB was a money pit, but a good learning experience. Ryan is a trading maniac, so he should get it and go hunting for the parts. I'd love to watch the saga. Oil

I've been working on acquiring this collection of books and manuals for over a year now. Persistence has finally paid off. It was all I could do to fit them in the M38 and then drive home without it all blowing out but I made it. I did have a cloud of decades old dust billowing out behind me the whole way though. I had to leave for work so I haven't had a chance to really go through them all yet. Here's a quick peek: See anything good? I do....!

I saw 3 big time things, there...and I know you put them on top ON PURPOSE!!!!! I've never actually known anyone with an original lubrication order! I've seen pictures, but just thought the originals were myth. And how many copies do you have of that worthless Dodge manual??!! Can I come up, visit and just be your inventory specialist with all of this "stuff" that you haul home?

How does one verify an original Lube chart from a repop? Based on the rest of this stuff I'm guessing it's a real one but I'd like to know for sure. It's dated 1944 but so are the repops. Either way this one will get cleaned up and displayed on the garage wall. And Moose, the library will be open any time you want to visit

OOooooooo...this could be fun! I've got a sure-fire bonafide G503 lube chart. Besides the fact that mine is way cleaner than yours, I really don't know if there are any differences. Just guessing, I would bet there is a difference in style between the metal donut rings (at the top) and/or the crimped edging around the perimeter.
Shall we both take close up, clear pictures of them and post them in a new thread??! Then, as we start diving into it, we can take closer ups of specific areas/details.

Sounds like fun (Gaawd we're Jeep Nerds....).. I plan on jumping into this pile of stuff tonight so I'll undoubtedly find some other treasures too. I'll get the lube chart cleaned up and photos posted asap.

I've spent the past couple hours sorting through some of this stuff and breathing in a lot of dust. Here's a few more things I thought were pretty cool: There are ton's of '50's era military manuals in great shape. The WWII manuals are scarce and pretty beat up but still fascinating. A-HA! I was hoping one of these would be in here- And who doesn't want to know how to operate a flame thrower? Pretty cutting edge stuff here back in the day..RESTRICTED! - ...and apparently I'm compromising national security by transmitting its contents - Random Jeep and Jeep-related books...and a Mopar Muncie catalog for good measure: Still lots more to sift thru.....

I think you might need a certified museum catalog expert (so I call myself!) on hand to verify and document all this and HEY NEVER MIND WHY MY BACKPACK IS SO HEAVY! All that stuff looks awesome, very seriously jealous from a fellow manual nerd.... What a great find indeed. HEIST doesn't even touch it. You are the man! Don't burn your seat with that sun shining out your hind end - there's GAS under it ya know! LOL

He's going to scan, load to a CD, and then throw out all those old nasty musty manuals. I've already bribed the garbage man though, so don't mess with my plan. Oil

Got a call on the Willys hotline - a non-running 3B two hours from home. Seller was not able to send pics but I've never had a 3B in any condition so I was intrigued and the price sounded right. I loaded up the newly refurbished trailer and headed out. I don't like venturing that far from home completely blind and was second guessing myself for even going after what was probably a completely rotted Jeep with an F-head that is virtually worthless to me. I met the owner in town and followed him out to the woods (yes, sketchy). Supposedly the thing was parked in this spot in '89 and covered with a couple tarps, which I gently peeled off. The windshield was folded down and glass broken. It is possibly seeing the full light of day for the first time in a couple decades: Pretty rough. Ooh! This is a welcome surpise. Thats's a SUPERSONIC head on a 2A(?) motor. Bubba, I'm actually pleased with your efforts for once. Luckily I brought my compressor and a come-a-long. I convinced the tires to hold air long enough to inch the thing onto my trailer (safety police look away...). Got it home for a closer look and there are some good useable parts here so it was a worthwhile trip. Oh yeah...this was parked next to the 3B and is also available. Time to do some research on values for a '73 VW Bus.

That bus should really be a sought after item in the right circles. Big time collectors of those even though I hate them.

The poor 3B had a tough life long before it got parked. You're going to need a fenced in lot with a warehouse to inventory the stuff. Ryan's after hours parts. Not aftermarket! You are the King of all Jeep Sniffers. Oil

Of course you realize Randy, that the engine in the 3B is not the right engine! Looks like an L134, but should be a F134.

You must have been so intrigued by the pics that you didn't read what I wrote next to them. I was happy to find that L-head instead -Ryan (although I have been called much worse than "Randy" )
