I'm not sure I really want one, but I have a lead on what I think is a decent opportunity. $800ish, missing lunette ring and tail lights. Surface rust...nothing major, but will need to be blasted and repainted. Old military tires. I imagine it would probably need a new wire harness, too.
I know you don't see it, but based off of that description, is that a legit price or inflated?

IMNLHO, I would say if not rusted through, it's an ok deal. New rubber add $400, lunette eye another $200. But a thrifty Tallboots resto will most likely run 10% of that . Lee

My opinion if I were buying it I would be in the 500 range. Just from the sound of how much work it needs and what it needs.

I told him I would give him the full $800.00 asking price, and that you were a con man! My kids just got wired the money and are going to collect. TONIGHT! So Fudge You! That will teach you to dawdle around ! I am going to restore that Batch and tow it behind My WILLIS! I don't need a "Correct Lunette" I will keep the modern tow hitch for its perfect fit on Grandpas AWESOME tow bar! HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!

have a NOS, in the grease Lunette eye Ahhhhhhh, the shed of dreams. I should like to add to my previous statement "Does anybody have an old useless lunette laying around"...that they'd be willing to part with? Lee, surely you have a dilapidated M416 loitering behind the shed with a lunette. That seems like it is more Tallboots style. Boy, I'm wishing I had that F marked chair right about now. The home foundry looks great, but in no way could I pull a lunette out of that hat.

I need one for my MB-T if anyone happens to find two useless lunettes lying around. WHOA... PIRATE ALERT! PIRATE ALERT! hahahahahaha No worries, Ryan...HG tells me he sees them every time he goes to the flea market. And if he strikes out there, he knows how to make one. We will be set. Do you have the civie set up on yours or just nothing?

I have a vintage (circa early '50's?) civie set up. The latest incarnation of my M38 has a pintle hitch so I need the matching gear on the trailer now. And yes, some of my finest parts have been sniped from other peoples' "WANTED" ads.

Is that shaft the remains of the original lunette? If so, I'd love to have that as my starter set! I'd go buy the donut end and take it to a master welder (like HG) and have him combine the modern eye with the vintage shaft. Boom. Problem solved! You lucky bastage.
Does anyone have the sad remains of a torched lunette?

Is that shaft the remains of the original lunette? I believe it is. Anyone know the original length of that shaft? I'm curious just how much got lopped off. Welding a new eye on there might be the way to go. Anyone know what size that is?

That was quick. Right place at the right time. A radiator NOS would be more than a fair trade. I will consider your proposition. Mind you this is a full bolt on assembly, I thought it was a M416 but it turns out M100. I really want to give it to the Moose, but it's so darn valuable.

WTF is going on here??! You guys are killing me.
Army jeep parts are out. I even sucked up my pride and contacted Zooke's favorite vendor. Out. They don't know when they will get more. Bizal is not going to make any anytime soon. Rommel Juan won't email me back. HG...aren't you buddies with him?
So where the heck did you find that setup, HG?

I bought an M416 trailer from the Bullis a few years ago. It had a civy hitch that I personally wanted. The set up came with the trailer. I assumed it was 416. Well I contacted my expert, and he told me otherwise. I had no idea. Didn't want to get you all excited.
