Those remarks were generated when I took my WW2 Jeep to a thrashing bee with tons of cool antique vehicles there on parade. I had my 1919A4 mounted up. As I was driving a divided highway, a guy pulled along side and asked: Going hunting? I said: "Yep, Prairie Dogs". The guy laughed and sped away. If you can't find a lunette, why don't you just go to a local welding shop and have a ring made and welded on to your remaining original shaft. Then stamp a F in it! Oil

Oily has a good idea! See, if you move little closer to N Texas, we could fire up my old tombstone Lincoln mo'chine, and have you one knocked out in no time!!! Just for example, This is the lunnette that was made for my "made out of scrap stuff" trailer (seen in the bottom pic) Its strong enough, for three years before I finished the wood bed I used it to haul a 350 gallon water tank (2900 lbs) with the Fjord 8n, from a shallow well to the garden across our property.. Hey Oily, when's the next prairie doggie hunt??? KA-BOOM! Be like the Rat Patrol!!

Oil Except I don't have the stem, or that's exactly what I'd do until the real thing came along...or HG quits being a jackass and strikes a deal with me for his. So, until he quits being chief wafflehead, I'm taking matters into my own hands.

OK, who's picture had the ball hitch and the lunette ring cut off? You guys have posted too many pictures. That particular picture had the original lunette stem still there with the ball hitch over it. You must realise, you need to spend the money you earn. If you don't, it will get moldy and the moths will eat it. Buy one and quit bothering us! Oil

So Tallboots, what would you pay for a stem (ring torched off), or a stem with a ring welded on ?. Lee

Thanks, Lee. I found that guy on a website called expeditionportal.com a few weeks ago. I sent him a message within a day or two of him talking about that setup and what he might do. I told him I'd take the lunette and nuts, unseen, for $200 plus postage. Others started chiming in that this and that isn't i terchangeable between trailers and blah blah blah. Long story short, he balked. Was fearful of selling someone something that it wasn't thought to be.
He's been posting that same novella throughout the Internet. He's got an ad in the trailer section of g503. Somewhere he also mentions that it's pick up only.
Also, this take it all and let you deal with parting it out laziness kind of rubs me raw.
Thanks for thinking of me, though. He's right around the corner from you. You should get it, part it out and make $585! Oh, well. At least he's trying to save valuable parts. My trailer probably isn't worth $450. I'm going to plant flowers in it for springtime ambiance and park it next to the Dodge. More yard art.

If you read his add, he wants $900 for the parts lot!, I believe he is smoking crack , and Lazy. I have an absolutely mint M-416 I would sell for 1K. I will pass as well, The Lunette eyes are the same, M-100/416, the socket casting is not, as the frame is wider on the 416, so the angle of the frame rails are different where the casting bolts on. I believe the landing leg is the same........... Find me a nice drivers seat, (or send me yours ), we could both be happy

This is lunacy. How many lunettes does one man need? That reminds me...SCHILLER! QUIT TAUNTING ME WITH THAT LUNETTE!
If you're not going to come off it, stick it on eBay. I'll buy it there.

Moooosey, it's the Murphy's Law thing! , if I sell you the Damn thing the next day I will need it , and as you well know, hard to find. The reality of it is I need to lighten the trailer stock . The POS 416 with the bubba hitch doesn't justify the NOS as a replacement, and I find challenge in fixing the bubba mod. What all that means to you is I may, just may be softening . Lee

Mine's bent anyway, to go with the rest of everything I touch. I say we go on a junkyard cruise through the backwaters of Carolina Moose, bound to be one somewhere!
