I had 2 79 models, outstanding pieces of machinery in my opinion. I do not know if the record has been beat, but years back a Pinto had the record in MN as the longest hi speed chase with the MN highway patrol.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Lets get back to the JEEEEEEEEEEEP! ;D Lee

My fist car...1975 Chevy Vega...limited edition. It was a bicentennial version. All white with red and blue pin striping...and an eagle logo. I loved it. I owned it for two months until an old lady pulled out in front of me. Totaled my $700.00 car. I was BUMMMMMMMMED.
Come on Shimms...where is that "Can Do" attitude? Borrow a trailers and head to the Rockies. You won't be sorry!!!!

Moose has been rolling around the underside of his 3/4 ton! Man, it is soooo roomy under there. Tons of elbow space to work AND I can lay on wheels while I slide around. I guess instead of playing down there I should be cleaning something. Actually I have been...I've got the transmission case and PTO looking sweet. I removed all of the hand brake and 4WD linkage, cleaned it all, painted and then...remembered that I have lost my camera AND my memory on how to reassemble. . Such a rookie mistake. Like every home improvement project I tackle, I had to assemble, remove, assemble, remove and finally the third time of assembly I NAILED it! Whew. Today, I topped it all off with removing all fenders and running boards! Maybe I'll turn Haine's rebuild thread into my own! Hehe. ;D

Okay!, now that the Haines Garage rebuild thread has been Hijacked to death it's time to spank the Moose , "Moose" where the He!! are your manuals?, why is the camera a problem, a simple look in the Dodge TM or parts book will easily identify your assembly issues! ;D, now take your brides credit card and contact one of the fine Dodge parts vendors and make it happen (stepping down from my soapbox). My dad's old saying was "Educations aren't free" and "books are cheap". ;D Lee

C'mon Lee...have a wee bit-o-faith in me! I've got the manuals. I don't think they are anywhere as good as the G503 manuals. The TMs for the jeep have exploded diagrams for everything...the Dodge manual only has them for things I'm not dealing with at the moment! I thought a TM was a TM. There is definitely a learning curve in educating myself between the front and back covers! But no worries, I figured it out and the only down side was that my family had to deal with my foul mood for one night! It's all good because they make me mad the other 6 nights of the week! Haines.,.why don't you come over and be my official camera crew and document my mess? You are doing much these days.

Okay Moose, I understand, just poking some fun your way! , besides the Haines gets jealous when he is not the center of attention in his own thread ;D. I cannot explain the TM issue, I guess the Army thinks Dodge guys have better memories than Jeep people, Hey what else would explain it! . Moose did you check out my signature at the bottom, GPW-the perfected Willys ;D Lee

Leo...poke all the fun you can at me...that's what I'm here for.
I got a lot of progress done on the passenger side today. Fender, engine bay side shield and running board all cleaned and rusted out areas replaced! Tomorrow I shall prime.
You might be on to something about the Dodge guys being smarter. I guess Haines will never get one. That's ok. I'll let him push mine round the neighborhood! ;D

Where is the hot place to buy Dodge parts, Moose? I have 51 half ton pickup to get running, belonged to my uncle and Gramps and I learned to drive on it. I will need to rebuild the engine or put in a good running flathead 6 to replace the missing one.

I don't know about others, but I found the front axle to be a real pain in the rump when moving it around at this stage. I finally bent a piece of rebar and used it to join the knuckles. At least I was able to stear the assembly without killing myself! ;D This thread really has turned into a BS session over at the Haines Garage. Love it!! Tim

If we all lived in the same neighborhood...and we do in a cyberway. We would all be hanging around in the garage, talking smack, building Jeeps , borrowing tools, you know the Good Stuff! Moose if you want to post pics on my build thread...feel free. And that is my invite to all my Jeeping Brothers as well. You want to hang out with 'Ole Haines Garage, you are more than welcome, and it is my Privilege and Honor that you choose to do so. Someday, I might even Finish ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well, shucks...it's no fun when you have permission! What the heck, I'll post pictures anyway!
Tim...I know what you are saying about that front axle. I wish I had had the brains to figure out your clever trick. I might have another axle stashed in my bushes. I ought to drag that out and try it.
Oh, one more thing...fbill- I think you asked on a separate thread about buying Dodge parts. I try to use John Bizal with Midwest Military. I think Lee gave him some accolades earlier. However, my truck s about 10 years older than yours. I know John carries M37 stuff, but not sure about the civilian crossovers. Vintage power wagons could probably do well for you, but I heard shady rumors about their customer service.

By the way...have you guys noticed how many views this thread has?! $20 says Haines is responsible for at least 2400 of those looks! Haha! He's just padding his stats.m
