Bubba...I got the chain Drive!!! For those that don't know what that means, My brother picked up my engine for the build for me from the machine shop. If you look in cultural differences, you will understand That was his phone announcement. The shop is close to his house and we were working together the next day. I had the block dip tanked and checked for cracks. Imagine this!! There were some ;D. It was repairable however. Thank God. I had the machining done and the crack pinned. Clean , Clean , Clean....When I rebuild this, I will start a Thread on how to rebuild an L134 CORRECTLY! OOOOHHHH Did he just say that....Yes I did I Scrubbed the block to death , even after the dip tank deal, and air dried it with compressed , filtered air. Primed and painted with Dupli-Color engine enamel. Here are some pics BEFORE....For you numbers guys...check out the markings

Nah, the non ribbed one is just awaiting the NOS transformation. Although it is just barely rusty enough to be NOS.

A Chevette??? Now you're talking off road capability right there, Bubba. (In my younger days I wheeled a Beautiful rebuilt from a wreck 4 door Chevette. What a sweet ride. Shoulda seen it on the autocross course.)
Of course I was already versed in the art of driving such high speed rocket ships, having owned several Pinto station wagons in college. All that started when I sold a 74 Bronco to a dude who traded in a Pinto wagon in it.
Hijack over, now back to the build.....

You strip the interior out, add 4 sticky tires, a crazy driver, and you never know what might happen, Lee. I will admit the Pinto pickup truck I ran for a while in 81-2 was quite the treat to watch on the autocross course....That too was severely lightened.
