Being as the original fame was Shot, believe me when I say this! You could poke your finger through multiple areas. I start the search. 2a pages, craigslist, etc. The Hillbillis sent me a craigs list listing in NC. Thank You. It was a 46 VEC Jeep parts lot. I finally own a frame worth building on. It is solid, with only rear cross member issues, and broken off mounting bolts. Frame was sand balsted, Por 15ed, primed and painted here is a photo of my son blasting the frame

A little side track.. My Speedo Paint and re-seal Paint was bad on the outside, glass was dirty on the inside. I took it apart, cleaned everything up, and put it back together. I taped over the date stamp on the back that shows the 1946 marking. The seals inside the glass were bad, I made my own out of roofing felt.

Jeep projects always recieve guest...some wanted, some not so much. This little guy is always welcome at Haines Garage. He is my next door neighbor George. George is in his "why" and "whats that" stage. I gave him a lesson on the 'ole flat fenders... When he could ID a few major parts, he walked away with on of my matchbox cars.......

I have these tires that I just cannot part with for two reasons. #1 I visited my Grandfather 15+ years ago, I walk into the garage and say "Grandpa, you got new tires for the Jeep" He chuckled and said " Scott those tires are 20 years old" #2 They are Lee Tires, and we all know whom Sir Leemeister is I have had people walk up into the garage to this day and say "hey you got new tires" I carefully taped off the rims, wire wheeled , sand blasted some, and kept the old rubber on. Someday I will do a set of NDTs...When these fall off All four are done. I know that in the future the inners of the rims will need attention. They have held steady 32 lbs for over 10 years! Believe me or not. Haines Garage Don't BS about the Lee Tires

Are you going to patch the wheel? I've seen this done on one of the sites. I'm not sure how it holds up.
I'm sorry, but I just can't get over how clean your work space is. When you see mine, don't judge me!!! ;D

No worries... And the wheel is done. I carefully sanded and cleaned it, used a two part epoxy, sanded and cleaned some more, and primed and painted. Semi Gloss black I won't call it perfect, but very acceptable.
