I will add...
Once my tub was set, this was the point where I became obsessed. Time had no meaning anymore. I just couldn't stop working on it.
I'm interested to see if this happens to you too.

Tim x2. The absolute best part of the build. All the little trinkets and gadgetry you've spent countless hours fiddling around with now get installed in all their glory in a matter of seconds each. You can't install just one!

HOT DANM!!!! GO BOY GO!!!!
I remember the most time consuming part after the tub was the wiring...... But you are hours ahead of me with your pre-made harness. Everything else falls right into place, you'll be driving in a matter of weeks!!!!

I think one of my favorite steps of a rebuild is installing the wire harnesses. But then again, on the G503, there are only 2 or 3 wires to clip in. I imagine the civilian version has mess of wires criss crossing in every direction imaginable for all of those non-essential comfort items...like seat warmers, iPod players in ammo cans and other similar crap.

OK, here we go: glad it's on, but-------------don't start bolting it down until you have shimmed the tub to fit the fendrs, hood, and grill. Look closely at the gap under the hood on top of the fenders on both sides. That is your guide. Now, Go man go! Oil

Quite simple: You bolt the fender braces to the frame. They then bolt to the tub. Some but little adjustment. The shim part begins at the frame mountings under the tub. Replaced hats, floors, and bent frames throw off the hights of things. You add rubber shims until the tub sits on the mounts and the hood gaps are paralel between the hood bottom edges and fender tops. The grill also bolts to the fender fronts and sits on top of the frame tabs or loops. If the frame is bent, you'll have differences here also. So, it all needs to be examined before you bolt it down tight. The ideal situation is a 1/4 inch rubber shim at all the frame points with a paralel fit of the hood. Hope yours is nice to you. Oilly

Here is why stuff takes so long... Just an example.... As you all know, I am in the wiring stage of Grandpas Jeep. This is the hood for the instrument cluster light. After cleaning all the paint and rust off the parts, there are two pin holes!! I can't have it!! So I soldiered it up. Then Clean the housing... Then figure out a way to prime and paint ... That little diddy took over an hour and a half!!! So cut me some slack... When it's done it's done....

You could have done a simple "WWBD" style repair!

You could have done a simple "WWBD" style repair! Yep, I could have, and I would have been done three years ago. Tonight I fought with the oil pressure gauge, ignition switch and temp gauge. Sir Hawk tells me I am not allowed to cut my firewall grommets to install . That was a PITA!!! By the way Hawky, I didn't cut my temp grommet... So it's late, my Bantam is safe, that's enough...

You definately have the Disease like the rest of us. You should be concentrating on the current project, but when another Jeep thing you have wanted shows itself, off you go wasting time and money. You go get it anyway. Now it's a trailer. You make me smile. Are you going to do the trailer and stop working on the Jeep? No! You need the Jeep to pull the trailer. Get your priorities in order! Don't forget you need a car trailer to bring your Jeep to the BHR. And your wife gets to have fun too. All good. Should we now talk about plowing snow?
