Seems to be that Good "Ole Haines Garage, needs to break it down for you fellas. For starters..How do you get " General Purpose Vehicle" which would be GPV out of GPW? What?,... A Finnish Employee of Ford mispronouncing the V as a W? That would be General Purpose Wee Hicle! What it really stands for is this ...are you ready.... Getting Parts Washed,(Because they leak so many lubricants) Giant Push Wee-Hicle Giant Pile of Washers And last But Not least.. Getting Your Panties Wadded over F script parts.... SOOOOO. What shall we talk about... ? (like the German in Indiana Jones)

"Really", you have been hitting the swamp water again, right?, It's NOT general purpose! G Government contract P 80 inch wheelbase {is a Ford thing} W Will-IS design Very simple, No general purpose there, RIGHT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I will add, in the case of the Ford GP, it as well was government contract, 80" wheelbase. What's next Haines,,,,,,,,, "Willease" Lee

You're just stupid. Why can't it be Gotta Pronounce Will-ease? But the truth of the matter is that Ford doesn't give a crap about the internal Toledo debate on how to pronounce their own name.

So a guy spends $50.00 $60.00 dollars on a couple of F script bolts. It's worth it! it's for a GPW. Second only to a 3B

In school a grade of A beats a grade of B. So, a 2A or 3A must be better than a 3B Right?

So the members of another forum can argue for days on whose jeep is more "correct"... .... keeps 'em busy, along with wavy washers....
