I'd love to come over the pond to you guys as Cap'n says, I believe it would be the best fun I could have while staying legal! (maybe, perhaps,) Sadly these days just getting out of the house is difficult. After 40 plus years of repairing and painting cars etc. and breathing all that crap in, my lungs sort of gave up the ghost. Because of this I wouldn't sell my jeep, though I've been offered tempting amounts. It's just that I couldn't rebuild another and there is so much of me in this one. Sorry about that, just following the new sign!!
Limey p.s. Is it normal to talk to your jeep? Just asking...

Absolutely. The language can sometimes be, um, quite colorful.

When talking to your Jeep, remember to hit something of little value.

So true rickg, during the rebuild I think I even made up a few swear words and found new ways of inserting them into normal words.
Yes oily, I had an old 5 gallon thinners can outside the garage door which was for kicking across the yard when things didn't go right, or when I found something else that Farmer Giles (our version of your 'Bubba' I believe) had 'repaired'.

It's completely normal to talk to, yell at, threaten then apologise to and beg your jeep to work. Well, to me anyway it is...

Hi everyone! Just found this forum last night looking for information on rebuilding a Dana 41 rear axle. Read through Haines Garage's write up. Great job by the way, really informative. I'm sure I'll be referencing it often until I get mine done. I have a 1950 CJ2A. My 13 year old son and I are attempting to do a frame up rebuild on it and we will need all the help we can get. It's in pretty rough shape. We live in the southwest corner of Utah in a town called Hurricane. Lots a off-roading to be done around here. Can't wait to drive this Jeep some day. Thanks in advance for all your help and thanks for letting me aboard!

Hypothetically If you and your Best Buddies were working in the garage, how would it be? That's how this place is....

Thanks guys! Looking forward to being here. No worries Oilly, I can take a "good insulation".
Can anyone link me to the thread on rebuilding the Dana 25? I think it by Haines Garage.

Greetings from Conifer. I still hold great childhood memories of working on the Austin healeys in the gargae with my Dad before I could drive.
Good luck with the D41 I've had mine apart at least 2x. once to go from welded to open diff, once to go back and install a lockright in the open carrier.
I've been in the D25 at least once too to install a power-lock limited slip.

I see a new member here, mbullism. Hmmm. We get down on a 1st name basis around the garage. Have seen you around some of the more respectable sites. We goof around here but are all friends, wear thick skin and know its all fun. Banned from respectable sites is a hazard I've ignored. Great deal of knowledge here (except HG maybe). Throw in and let us see what ya got to bring to the party! Humbly, Rickg, aka The Muleskinner.
