The sickness is alive and well. I'm proud of you! Hawkridge must have gasped a little when he saw that red M37. A nice one. I tried to infect him when he was here in the Black Hills. All these toys are like a ice cream store. So many delicious flavors and oh so good. The pain required to fix and keep them in "ready" condition, is a limiting factor. I haven't found the limit, but am slowing year by year. You all need to step up to a Deuce and a half also. Now that's a bigger Jeep. I have to go and drive now, talk to you later----------

Scout...your Powerwagon is gorgeous! I had no idea you had one. Don't think of me as a bigger weirdo than I already am, but that Dodge body style is as sexy as it gets. I've got a WC52, and love it because it's WW2, but the postwar versions are WAY prettier. The WC is like the fat sister of the skinny, long legged, subtle curved Powerwagon.
Ryan...I started with jeeps and the morphed into an M37. I sold it to buy more jeeps, though. Then I thinned out my heard to get the WC. It's a crazy teeter totter...except for the big kids like Scout and Oilly who have tons of room.

Ryan it's a Bugeye, not a car. I've owned alot of English roller skates, but my '67 Midget was the worst piece of English I've ever owned. I tried to be nice to it, but it just didn't like me. We parted ways. My wife hated it also. Slow, small 7 gallon gas tank, ran hot, poor clutch setup, not very comfortable seats, 1st gear sounded like a fire engine siren, and it seemed to fight me all the time. The only car I owned that made me walk home. Cute little Bastage, but sneaky evil. The bugeye has a 948 instead of the 1275. Less power. Ugly as hell. No trunk. You have to slide the spare tire into a cave behind the seats. The cheapest made English car out there. Why people pay what they do for them is beyond me. You could have a great triumph TR3 for the same price. Remember-----------I warned you. Don't do it! Move on. You'll thank me later. Oilly

This thread is the BEST! I read it again. I'm a Fing speed reade. Tea read it. You know how to spell it mother Fers! It's Haines Garage!!! Yeah flat fender focus , but that can't control all. I love seeing different old school vehicles. Before the computers, before the change to throw away! It make me happy that these ole vehicles are still around. Great post on the Truck Sir Ryan... And the Scout Sir Rick... Who ever knew you had such a Fleet. Awesome Stuff......Sincerely! 5xer....

I have a dream of turning that PW into a Recovery vehicle for use at Uwharrie. Too many ideas. Not enough time.

I lost my trusty plow truck last week so a replacement of some type was warranted. I decided to go a slightly unconventional route and dragged this home last night. It should make quick work of hauling Jeep carcasses around the yard too I'm pretty sure The Wilhelm Whisperer would approve

Ford F Script Freaking AWESOME! Oddly enough, I might've heard a rumbling from the Wilhelm about a top secret prototype tracked vehicle. I think it came from the same inspired think tank that conceived his show stopper (RIP) doodlebug. I didn't think any had been produced, though. If this was his and his bunker is now empty...he's gonna be severely agitated!
Can't wait to see it drag racing in the snow!

I took a quick rip around the yard last night. It has a 6-cyl Chrysler motor (same as a Power Wagon maybe?) with absolutely no muffling hardware that I could find. It sounds like a dump truck and is guaranteed to awaken the entire neighborhood when I fire it up at 4:30am on a snowy morning. Awesome

Livin' the dream there, Ryan.
One of these days...I'll have a snowcat. It is a life goal for me. Seriously.
Is that a SW48FA? That would/should be a FORD 4.9liter industrial 6 cyl I think.

It's a '67 SW48. I really don't know much about these but I'm pretty sure it's a Chrysler engine. I have a later SW48FA manual that came with it that describes a Ford motor but that's not what I have. And a Sno-Cat of any age would be cool. There's a vintage one at a local museum that is by far my favorite piece on display. Here it is:

My friend Chewy is the boss when it comes to snow. That little kitty cat would be fun to scare the neighbors with though. Oil

It was beautiful here Saturday so my buddy and I made a trek up to Moosehead Lake for the annual "Seaplane Fly-in". I've always wanted to go to this event but just never made it. Greenville, ME is a neat little town on the southern shore of Moosehead Lake. Lots of logging history and a vacation mecca of sorts. The fly-in is a 4 day float plane meet with various exhibits and contests (short take-off competition, dropping grapefruits onto floating targets, etc). ] By the time we arrived cars were parked a 1/2 mile out of down town. Lucky for us, a local car club was having a show and allowed us a front row seat. Tough to tell from this pic but lots of plane activity. In this shot alone there are three in the air and two more taxiing around One of the local flying services in Greenville has, among many other sweet toys, two Cessna 195's and two M38's. A fine combination if you ask me. The owner started showing me around but then had to stop short to take group of paying customers up in the other Cessna. One of the M38's has had an F-Head transplant (not cool) but does sport a Ramsey JR-246 winch (very cool). The other one is an older restoration but still looks good for a North Woods driver Greenville is the only town I'm aware of where driving ATV's on the city streets is completely legal. I'd still rather have my 3A. On the way back we had to stop at a TRACTOR JUNKYARD! Ever been to one? Neither had I. And a Doodlebug, just because: Good stuff. I already have it on the calendar for next year.

I'm definitely siding with Cap'n Lee...Maine is the place to live. If we all moved there, I think HG would finally land his reality tv show. It'd be more like a sitcom with all of you yahoos.
I missed the videos you posted earlier. I just watched them. That bitch is a beast! What a ridiculous ride! And from the cockpit...nice job with one hand on the camera and the other shifting and steering. Lol
The tractor graveyard looks more like a museum timeline. The doodlebug takes the cake.

I knew the Tractor Boneyard would be Moose-approved. And I may be stretching the truth a little bit by calling that last rig a "Doodlebug". It appears to be pretty much all the same vehicle instead of a cobbling together of 3 or 4 different ones. It's "too good" for a Doodlebug. It has potential though...

Radial engine airplanes, Jeeps, mahogany speedboats, flannel shirts, guns, tractors, tours, wow. What a action packed weekend. I was waiting for you to show a WW2 Jeep in the bushes though. Cool stuff, thanks, Oilly

Cool stuff, thanks, Oilly I had the Jeep radar on full strength while patrolling that tractor yard. What I didn't mention is we also stopped at a long defunct auto junkyard too that I've always wondered about. I could see at least one flat fender and two or three CJ-5's lurking in the underbrush behind the fence. Long story short the owner is elderly and in poor health so I only made it as far as his caretaker after pounding on the door of the house. No chance of exploring the yard and I used every tactic in the book. No go. I'll be keeping close tabs on the place though. Did you happen to notice that blue thing behind the M38 parked in the hangar next to the Cessna? It's '40's era "Link Trainer". Super cool vintage flight simulator and the first and only one I've ever seen. Here's a better pic of it I stole from their FB page:
