So, how did they perform?

One of the few snowmobiles I would like! Making your own windchill, never made sense, but in a Willys, yes! Oil

So, how did they perform? I only bombed around for about 15 minutes but they seem to do better in the real deep snow than my NDT's. We got buried last night and it was 10-12" of the wet heavy stuff. The NDT's always do pretty well but I never got stuck once with these big tires on. Keep in mind I was only driving around my yard and never drove out onto the paved road. They do kick up a lot more snow and dirt (right into my face) as the tires stick out well beyond the fenders. I'm sure running tires this size is harder on everything else too - clutch, steering, etc etc so I wouldn't want to run them long term. The additional strain was immediately noticeable right in the garage. With NDT's I can roll the Jeep one-handed across the garage. With these tires on it took two hands and I really had to lean into it.

Now that's what we're talking about!! That's what my yard looked like yesterday. One thing about those terra tires is the flotation. When we used to have the jeep rally's out of Calgary back in the 70's, guy's would show up with terra's and those sand paddles tires, the ones with the cups on them. Then they would see who could travel the farthest across a patch of muskeg!! Only trouble was, it took a very long winch cable to reach them when they did get stuck. My friend used to have about 8 inches of mud inside the jeep after playing in the muskeg. LOL

I lie em. Those would be great for playing in the sand dunes in okla. Ill have to keep a eye open for some. What size are they and how bad did the rub when turning sharp?

31x15.50-15 Goodyear Wrangler XT Terra-Tire
They did rub a little when turning very sharply and I had to remove the side-mounted spare tire to accommodate the width right rear one. Like I mentioned above I did not give them a very long term test. I had 'em on just long enough for a few laps around the property.

They used to use them on ditch-witches all the time.

Now that looks like fun. I bet you didn't get near as close to getting stuck as I did with NDTs in Wednesdays snow.
