First off...it's not mine. It unfortunately belongs to a local detard. Yes, HG, you know the one...the computer geek with the '42 GPW.
He's got a small, unwelcomed hole in his floor. It probably needs a 3x3 or a 4x4 replacement section with one of those raised channels going right through the center of it. I'm quite the newbie with trailers having really not owned or played with them. Are the floors in them the same pattern as the rear CJ floors? If not, what about Zookiemonster's jeep...is that the same pattern as the M100 floor?
Or, do any of you Cowboys have a good way to replicate the bends on a flat piece of steel?

Moose, please put up a pic if you can. I saw someone that had patterned a floor to a trailer. If it is the same I am cutting up a bad tub and may have some channeled pieces for you.

If it isn't original, they did a nice job making it...except for the ghetto ridge across it.

Nothing on my tub is going to match this. It is totally different. You may have to make a wood jig and hammer out a section to replicate that. A lot of work to do so. How much does he want it to be completely correct? Or you?

Good questions...I can't answer for him...and I guess my answer/opinion is moot since it's not mine. I'm still trying to get him to do the right genny/VR set up. If it were me, I'd want to try to match it up as close as possible, within reason. The trailer has a bunch of tents and dings, so it doesn't have to be perfect. How would one go about making the wood jig, and then applying it? Do you have any examples in your build thread? Oh, oh...is HG going to assign you a thread?

I don't have any examples as when I am doing the indents for HG I bent them on a brake and welded them as opposed to hammering them out. You would need a hard wood like oak to carve out the indents and then hammer them out into the form while anchoring them properly. Not an easy task to do stretching the sheet steel. An art in itself. You would for sure have to do some practice work.
I had first tried the wood method with the indents and gave up for the brake and welding method instead.

Hmmmmm...cool stuff. I'm definitely tempted to try it. Worse case scenario, I can do the weld and grind method...if HG would ever finish his tub and return my welder!

Not added, the drain is stock on an M-100/M-416. Not a white house ridge at all, bone stock. Do not screw with that or the trailer police will whoop your ass . There should be a stopper plug on the bottom side of that. If your planning to go yachting with the trailer, the plug needs to be in A-1 shape .

I know the drain is stock. He says there is a hole in the front and the rear of the floor pan. Are there supposed to be two?
...and he's already F'ed the trailer up...against my advice. He cut all 4 handles off. He wants it to look WWII. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Sounds like the trailer police need to deliver an ass whoop'in there, why cut the handles off, the 99%'ers wouldn't know the difference and he F'ed the resale value, Complete as Haines would say, "Detard" .

EXACTLY...right??!! Nobody would've noticed and he'd still have a valuable trailer. Ok...so I'm thinking, then, only the WW2 trailers had one drain hole? If the M is supposed to have two, then I, sure as hell, ain't helping to cover one up! After he cut the handles, I was mortified...but something good came out of it. I found a buyer that needed the handles for his M100. He was restoring it properly! Detards.

WOW!Look who showed up to the party! I might be dragging that trailer home next week. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with the nasty tub, but if I decide to cut it up, sell off what ever is usable and then scrap the rest...we can look at cutting out a part of the floor and welding it into your conversion trailer. Well, that is if HG ever returns my damn welder.

Lads, let's not get us panties in a wad about what I've done to my $400 trailer. Well, $300 now since Moose sold those four handles for me.
As for resale value, I don't plan on selling it. The trailer police are welcome to come round, but I can't promise I'll give a steamin' turd. I could paint this bitch hot pink and sell frosted corn dogs wearing a cape made of tiger dicks at a Ninja rally if I wanted to - it's still a free country, at least I think it still is under BarryO's regime. I was just trying to get it to look the part of a WWII trailer to go along with my WWII jeep when we do WWII events. I guess I'm as dumb as I am ugly.
Incidentally, if it's been decided that I am required own a wonderfully-restored M100 in all its genuine original glory, WITH the damned grab handles and two drain holes, ship it.

Um, yeah. So....my ONLY issue at this point is that "hot pink" comment. You come off sounding like hot pink isn't cool. Check out my avatar.
And just you bitches wait to see what I do with my M100 since all you hoarders (HG and Capt. Lee) won't give a pallie a deal on a complete or incomplete lunette! Because of that, why make it stock since it will be all ghetto'end up with the ball receiver. ...wait a minute...wonder if detard will notice his missing?
Detard....it is a PITA posting pictures, but you ought to put a couple then, during and nows up. I might seriously be the weak link here. Your work, albeit on the same snail's pace as HG's, is really good.

Jeff Uyak is way cool. He has a GPW that is awesome. He is the curator of the Charleston Military Museum. Very humorous guy as well. I think that his first post proves he will fit right in around here. I will vouch for him. Jeff I love the Detard user name. That's just funny!
