Morgan Neelands, Wyowillys46 gave a tip well worth mentioning to my friends here. A go devil has 1/2 inch reach spark plugs that are directly over the valve area. Compression testers are either the push rubber tip kind, or the nicer screw in with adaptor type. Aluminum heads on engines generally have a 3/4 reach plug. So, if you use a 3/4 inch reach adaptor with the correct thread size and screw it in your Jeep all the way down, you could possible bend a valve when it hits the adaptor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now wouldn't that suck big time my friends! Check this one into your deck of Jeep cards. I'll take either money or hot buttered rum for sharing this tidbit. signed valveleaker

So, maybe cut some threads off the adapter...just to be safe?

Or get some really thick rubber washers to fill the space. And keep from cutting up a good compression hose threaded end.

Secret eh? I am lucky my Snap-on compression tester is not the long threaded kind. I hadn't thought of what could happen. Just got lucky. I was a great tip posted.
