Some of us are so tallented, we don't have to work. People pay us for advice. Look at all the money we've made here! I kick my own ass now. I only answer the phone if I want to. I only work so I can play. That's my favorite job. Willys whisperer now. Oil

Lol...a lot of people say that my job is a hobby! It doesn't pay much, but at least the stress and demands are comparable to the salary!

I'm now a Willys Whisperer. When I talk nice to my Jeep Dempsey, he treats me kindly. How I know: I changed his oil and filter and serviced him and asked that he not let me down. Off we go to M38Mike's. He always started, didn't use any oil, didn't need any antifreeze, and climbed all the hills and didn't spin out. His lights and generator worked nicely. All I had to do was drive. I let him sleep each night next to me, and never called him any bad names. We like each other. Today, I carefully washed him up, checked the oil and antifreeze, dried him off with a soft chammis, and put him in his resting bunk. Oh, by the way, if you haven't, clean your oil pan out and re-fill it on your donaldson air filter. Mine had allot of Colorado granitic dust in it. You Jeep will thank you and not wear it's rings out too soon. Hulett, my '48 CJ2A was glad to have his friend back and they are in the shop talking to each other about the whole event in Colorado. I suppose Hulett will learn a few things for his turn with the Willy's Whisperer! Oh, never call them a Willis, it makes them mad.  Oilly |

If it wasn't bad enough I had to go back to work after two weeks of huntin' an' jeepin', I had to sit all day Wednesday in a pickup with a sick trainee. Tried to send him home but he wouldn't go.... Now guess what.....  BW |

I had to retire after my illness caught up with me---------I was sick of work! I'm cured! I also have a favorite word now---------NO! Works every time too! Oilly

I may be the sick one here I like my job. I get to read all your brilliant posts and nap and see some great Wyoming scenery. Sometimes the hours are not so great, but that comes with the job.

After taking a week away from work, I go back to disaster. It's almost not worth taking a vacation. I never take my allotted share. In the 26 years I've worked for this company, I have left nearly 51 weeks of vacation on the table. That's almost a full year. Unfortunately, if we don't use it...we lose it.

I have never had a paid vacation, in construction it's no work no pay!, so I save up for vacation and it works fine for me........ I do like my job, it has many plusses and many minuses but overall I look foreword to each day. I guess I am lucky, as one grows older you learn to work smarter, I do not look foreword to winter as I am getting arthritis in my hands and that's not fun!. |

Wait until you do your own business books with 5 employees and 1500 customers. Try and balance your books. Try and save PO'd customers, yep been there. Try two weeks gone. Suicide. Just throw your phone away and drink while gone. Then walk right into the buzzsaw when you get back. You forget your vacation in a nanosecond. But-----------when the next vaction arrives, you leave again. Again is good. Again is right. Come to the Black Hills my friend, and I will relieve your pain! Oilly
