Hey Lowrange - great work. I really love those old Harrison Heaters. I'm going to add my rebuild pics here if you don't mind. If you feel I am inappropriately hi-jacking your thread just let me know and I'll move or delete my post. Just thought it would be cool to have this dedicated Harrison thread. The starting point: Disassembly: I took the fan to a old time electric motor guy and had it reconditioned. Testing the core with compressed air. No bubbles so I thought it was good. However, assembly and installation back in the Willys it leaked pretty bad. I ended up having it recored. Primed: Painted (Rustoleum Silver Hammered Finish): Assembled: Installed: I have the red WILLYS label on it to but don't have a pic handy. It looks pretty sharp. The Harrison throws a surprising amount of heat! Since I have no top on my 3A I'll come home on a cool evening almost frozen to death but with near third degree burns on my right ankle

These heaters have cores...yes? How does one repair a leaking core?

I wimped out and took mine to a radiator shop for a replacement core.

The recore thing has always interested me, and I have no idea what they do. Would be an interesting topic.

The recore thing has always interested me, and I have no idea what they do. Would be an interesting topic. I've never watched them do it but I don't think it's overly complicated. Unsolder the old core and solder the new one in. I've seen at least one thread somewhere showing a step-by-step tutorial (on a radiator) but I haven't been brave enough to try it yet. I have a nice Harrison on eBay right now just screaming to be restored. Bid high and bid often :-)
