I posted much of this at the 2A page. I would like to add... The Knights were well represented at the 2014 version of the FCT. I was happy to see Jpet and Bruce again this year. Always two of my favorite guys to run with. We tore it up a bit on Aspen Ridge and Four Mile. The newest participants to join the fun didn't disappoint. The Leaker, Lee, and Rudycon can BS with the best of them. We literally sat in a circle and talked for hours. The only thing missing was the round table...and some of the Knights. In all seriousness, these are some great people. I was truly honored to share the same mountain with these folks. I'm at risk of repeating all the wonderful things that the other participants have said, but I don't care. I couldn't have dreamed up a better experience. So much of the 2014 version of The Fall Colors Tour will be on my list of the most memorable events I've ever been a part of. I've said it before...Willys folks are the most... "Real" ...people I've ever been around. The works of Norman Rockwell come to mind. The Willys Jeeps...There is no better element than the Colorado high country to show off the prowess of a flat fender Willys. It literally chews up a Rocky Mountain trail, then spits it back out for the next challenger. Colorado colors...the greens, reds, oranges and golds viewed from a Willys with a windshield down...Awesome and inspiring. I'll finish by thanking Mike and Ellen Picard. Aside from them being great folks, they also show us places that only a hand full of people have ever been lucky enough to see. Seriously, it takes weeks to wipe the goofy smile off my face. The new Knights joining us at the FCT... The Leaker and Lee just before the Four Mile trail. Rudycon at the top of Mt Princeton...

Well said Sir Hawk! It was the best. We'll be doing more together and we even will have Haines to talk with it is rumored. We'll have to brace ourselves for that. I think Rudy is game also. If I left anyone out-------you are welcome to join in too! OD was so clean and nice, my 3A looked like a dirt clod. Amazing how well they ran at 12000 feet. Sitting here listening to waves of rain pass over my house. The seasons are a changing. Oilly

Mid June 2015? I'm IN at the moment. What the heck. Great. Now the pressure is on again to move forward on Studebillys repairs. I think I can only flat tow with the JK. (rated to 3500#) Maybe my Dad will have something to tow it with and he can come up too.
Season's-a-changing? It hit +32 F on the way to work today. I put new tires on Lin's car last night.

Rudy, you are always in! Just come and have fun. We are now close to flash flood status here. I took Dempsey out for a wash. No more Colorado mud in the wheelwells or chassis now. A driving power wash. Still 51 degrees. I'm now getting ready for "the season". Drained the camper all out and am mothballing it for next years Jeep season. I plan a action packed summer again. Oilly

Hawk, my son has a Boston. When he is gone, we watch her. Her name is Monster! She, when young, ate half of his kitchen cupboards while he was at work , thus the name. Your dog laying there in your lap, and I, had a good pet together. What a lovey! I expect they are your children. Ever compare good dog owners to bad dog owners. It says allot. I'm thinking from your dog, you AND your dog are welcome at my house! Good stuff there hawk! Signed Oildoglover

One of our own missed the tour! Morgan Neelands of Denver who is my departed VP of the SDFFC, called me at 9 PM on Friday to tell me he wasn't making it. His '46 2A died on the road near Connifer on 285. He used Triple A to get home. I asked what happened and he had found the problem after some searching at home in daylight. He has petronix ignition. It works well until your battery voltage drops below 5.7 volts. that's when petronix says--------see ya. It died at speed and rolled to a stop. Get this: add this to your fix it manual, the wire inside the generator between the brushes and the post on the case of the generator broke. I never would have found that one. Think of that one boys. A hard school of knocks no doubt. Morgan is a great Jeep guy and was missed. Signed generator leaker
