If it's all for show make it a 50 cal................. The problem mounted in a jeep it makes the back seat non usable for older folks.....like WW2-Korean vets!.. Just a personal observation . If your getting the real thing then save all your money for ammo so I can come and shoot it . Lee

They quit using them (Ma deuce) in Jeeps because the recoil tore the floor up. Most were 1919a4's. .30 cal. browning. The 1919a6 had a rifle stock and bi pod on it. Big brother to the BAR. I'd hate to carry either of them. You had to be Rambo to do that. You used to be able to buy a demilled kit from Sarco, buy and new sideplate and rivit set, and have your bolt/disconnector machined, weld things together, and have a semi auto rifle that shot. Talk about a bull barrel. Very stable weapon. The kids at shows mouths drop when they look up at it on a Jeep. Anymore, the ammo thing has slowed all the fun up. 89.00 for a box of 22's? Not me. Now, how about a recoiless rifle on a M38. That's the biggest stick on a Jeep! Woah. Oilly

If you have ever read the book "One Shot One Kill" the story of Carlos Hathcock in VietNam (A must read if you like war stories and one of my favorites ). The story tells of him mounting his redfeild scope on the 50 cal, and picking off Viet cong at a mile away. Lee

They were not really meant to be towed any distance behind a Jeep, more so to be positioned by a Jeep. I know two guys that have them and both have told me this, and both said its very scary towing them over 20 mph. HG, what can we do ??, we are mere pawns in this world. current administration seems to not care, we can vote, yes, but it could be too late . Lee
