Here is something most interesting we can talk about. The cover on the right is from the 46 tub I am working on. Round, as is the cut out in the tub. The cover in the middle is square, from Grandpas 46 tub that also had a square cut out. Behind the square cut out was this.... Ideas???

I have never seen a square cover or cutout for the trailer plug, Me thinks it was modified , an gramps made a gasket for it out of an old Niehoff box. The square cover looks like a PTO floor cover to me. Lee

HG, I agree with Lee on this one. I've never seen anything but the round cover for the MB and 2A. Square one...PTO cover. Did your Gramps have a PTO shifter? If so, he may have re-purposed the cover.

Niehoff made points, condensers, voltage regulators and replacement electrical stuff. That is a PTO hole cover for the floor between the seats. I wonder if that is a home made gasket to go under the steel blanking cover. Test fit the square cover between the seats. I'll bet the holes line up. The round is a cover that Willeeeeese made to plug the hole for the trailer electrical plug in socket. The guy that owned Willllleeeeese, was named Willllliiiiisssss! That's the end of the story. But why is the square so perfect to the cover?

Something cool here... How would a gasket be made from scrap that would fit so perfect? Seems 'Ole Haines has stumbled upon something never seen before!

I think it says: Ignition Leadership at the top! Cardboard box a voltage regulator or coil came in? Yes, very rare gasket---------only one in existence, Priceless.

Perhaps an aftermarket deal? I just find stuff like this to be interesting. I have hidden all kinds of stampings , marks..etc I have shown my son most of them. Maybe someday someone finds them....
