I restore jeep Shovels, Axes, and now hatchets as a sideline hobby. I completed these this week. They will also be kept in my Jeep. Two of my favorite manufacturers. Mann, and American Fork and Hoe Co. Both Dated 1944. I sand blasted the heads bare, primed and painted them (late ww2 OD green)I re-handled both of the heads with hammer handles, and ground them to the shape I wanted, and to fit my hand. Then coated the handles with 3 coats of linseed oil.
