Just picked up a 1944 Wood entrenching tool today. Have the cover already. So it's going on the jeep for the parade on the 4th.

By the way. The Wood is the less common of the entrenching tools. Most were made by a company in Wyoming.

I knew someone would pick up on this post someday ! I had two woods and an Ames.
Here's the cool part ! In WW2 one of my Grandfathers Best Buddies in the Army was Woods .
I gave the Ames to my Son , and the woods "project " I will call it, went to one of my best buddies

Is this one any good? Straight wood handle, no pick, marked AMES US 1945. Found it at the Goodwill last night. Oiled it up. Works good. Attachments:

Good find. The AMES is the most common of the manufactures. Looks in good shape. Now to find the cover.
