Here are four rods, you can plainly see the left two are VERY bent Lack of oil caused this, both were a result of a bypass oil filter, one not assembled correctly, the other a result of a failed supply line, the lesson here is Pay Attention , carefully inspect hoses and gaskets (or pitch the pos ;D) and Do not spend hard earned bucks on offshore re pops, as the ends are not crimped correctly and pop off as you drive, and that gets expensive. Okay whats up with the two on the right, well the one that looks straight is , LOL it's for comparison, the far right is not a Jeep rod at all, I removed it from a V12 Detroit Diesel many years back, my boss at the time was to cheap to install a new rain cap, and well,,,,,,,,,it rained, that is an example of "Hydraulic Lock" or water on top of the piston Lee

Very interesting!
As a side note, it looks like the willys connecting rod is almost as long as the Detroit one? (12V71 series I'm assuming?)
