Boy!! Sure look's awfull suspicious to me!!! Somebody call's for a poll on something, and as soon as the poll gets tied up, the poll is locked up "tighter than a bull's a-- in fly-time"! Wonder who's afraid of loosing?? But--- we all know that it's willease!! Right John?

OK, you guys are having lots of fun with this, so I figure I'll weigh in here, though without humor as I tend to be humor impaired (yes it's a real handicap). It's an old debate with few definitive answers. And the confusion is the fault of people 70 years ago. Watch this film made by Wilding: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDTajVgvloYAt 1:17 the guy on camera says "Willis-Overland" At 2:16 the same guy (same take no less) says "Willeez units" At 2:32 he says "Willis-Overland" again. So It seems that when referring to the company they said "Willis" and when referring to the vehicles they said "Willeez". But Throughout the rest of the video and in part 1 as well, the voice-over guy says "Willeez" regardless of whether he was talking about the company or the vehicles. He even says "Willeez-Overland". That film was made around 1950 - there seems to be about an equal number of 2As and 3As in it as well as Wagons and Trucks. This one, supposedly made in 1948 (also by Wilding) says "Willis-Overland" and "Willis" in reference to the company but always calls the vehicle a "Jeep" so it's no help in the debate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bf6qnM2pXYSo If they couldn't seem to be consistent back then when John North Willys had only been dead for about 15 years, how do we figure it out now? Yeah, guilty as charged. I'm a Yankee, born and bred. Grew up in Iowa farm country. Learned to drive tractors before cars. Even trucks with no synchros in the tranny. So, if pushed to the wall, I'd probably say Willeez just because of because. Sorry Scott.  |

Okay, I have a new plan to settle this, on a thread of this tripe laden yet history filled website, Mr Moose said his wife, the better half ( and assumed saint for putting up with him), Is an English teacher, If true maybe she would look over this dilemma and set you Willease people straight.
