Hey folks, Tom from Dracut, MA here. First timer to this board. Found it researching axle grease. Got a rusted out 51 cj3a 6 months ago ($800.00), and am fully involved. Body is gone, except for the grill. When I said rusted, I really meant it. Just about everything will be new. Amazingly, the frame, axles, transmission, transfer case and a working PTO are in amazing shape. It only showed 23,000 on the odometer but has sat in a chicken coop since 1977. Of course, all seals, bearings, and whatever else necessary will be replaced or repaired. Engine is frozen and is now at a rebuild shop. Plugging away here, currently on rear axle, hubs , and brakes. Got half the frame and rear leafs done. I expect this to last 3 years or so. Got a finished 63 Buick Wildcat convertible that will take some Jeep rebuild time when the weather warms... Anyway, thanks for having me, and I’m sure I’ll be a future pest with many how to questions.
