I am not starting an official project or build page on this just yet. I have tried to read my frame numbers and no dice as of yet. Some guys have given me tips on ways to revive numbers. I will look further.

Looks like a good start. Scotch brite the frame top first and then wet it down to see if you can find your frame number. Do you know where to look for it? Oilly

You just HAD to post that pic of the VR. I'm going back in the forum and digging up all those threads you dogged "f-bolt nerds" cos that's where you're headed!

Once I found mine, I cleaned it with wet or dry sand paper carefully so I could get a picture of it. Tom Wolbolt on G503 ID'd where it was built by the stamp fonts. Nice guy. With that number you can find out much about your GPW. Data Plates For U in the Netherlands has alot of data also. From the serial number, you can do a hood number calculation, date of delivery, and make new glove box plates. The recovery begins-------------
