PFC Chomos was taken prisoner outside Anzio, at age 21 and spent the rest of the war as a POW.
I just had the opportunity to leaf through his sketchbook provided by the Red Cross to US POWs in Stalag II. A wool blanket was fashioned to protect the cover, and inside was a collection of poetry, song lyrics, pen and ink and pencil drawings all done between shifts on prison work detail. I didn't think to ask at the time if I could take any pictures but I will if I can to share with you guys.
