Hi all, I'm in the process of tearing down my 48' CJ2A engine. I was lucky to get all the head studs out of the block but I did snap one exhaust manifold stud. In the process of drilling it out, I used a magnetic base drill. I was careful not to drill past the stud depth, but still ended up in a hole of a head stud. I've attached a picture of the two holes. Can anyone tell me if these holes are connected from the factory? I was able to finally drill out the old stud and re-tap the original hole to 3/8 -16. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes they are originally connected. They are all "wet", so use permatex #2 on all in copious amounts. Oilly

Well that's a relief! Thank you for the information and the quick response. I'm sure I'll have more questions as this progresses.
