Did the Armed Forces Day 5K run at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA today. Short Round got me there in the dark wet fog this morning. Did the run in full WWII filed kit, Mussette pack included along with entrenching tool. 48.38.733 minutes. Very hilly terrain and not practice. Just cold turkey. Not too bad at 58. And a hardy Airborne, Hooah to all serving currently. Start at the 22.40 mark. www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0WqFZ-DFRM

I'm such a literalist that I was looking for you at 22:40 on the RACE clock. As I put up on FB, maybe next year a couple of us Joes could accompany you? Is the race open to non-veterans?

Oh and don't smash and mess up your shin the day before the race. I think the only thing that got me thru was the night before the pain was so great I had a hydrocordone left and took it with a couple of stiff drinks. I think they were still with me that morning as these last two days I can hardly walk and the pain is unbelievable. But this too shall pass.

I couldn't do that unless I had a good mule under me. Attachments:

I couldn't do that unless I had a good mule under me. Or behind you.
