After work today, I ran the stude-a-willys down to meet a new to the area flat fender jeeper. Glad he reached out to me. I hope he shows up here. He has questions about his not quite stock MB rebuild.
I am also talking him into Oil Leaker's South Dakota event.
This guy is just the kick I needed to get back out there and fix some more stuff on the Stude-a-willys.
The studebaker ran well tonight. Pulled the hill like a mac truck on the way home. And...It was warm enough that I didn't freeze. I think the thermostat actually opened! (We still have snow up here.)
Last Sunday I drove it down to do some volunteer stuff in a freezing mist. Wipers might have helped. The event was about "modern homesteading." That encourages me to use what I have and work on my homemade top a little more too.

I can't believe I was able to catch it as it blew off and finish the race with one hand holding the top and one hand on the steering wheel.

Amazing talented bunch we have. They can keep their Jeeps together at top speed while driving one handed and laughing all the way. We never finished some runs we were on since it was raining hard. Annie Creek was just the start of that run. Never saw Castle Creek. Mystic. We could go look at Custer's Gap where he managed to get 110 wagons up and out of the canyon near Nemo. The Black Hills don't have the huge vistas like Colorado does, but we still can have fun. The Rock Crawler trails are all pay per view. That part irritates me. Thank You Dept. Of Agriculture, Washington DC. Bring your friend and we'll have some fun Sir Rudy! Oilly
