Ok guys, I have one for you. On a L4 134 gear drive flathead engine referencing the crank and timing gear cover. On the outside of the cover where the crankshaft fits through the seal, what is that round thing that looks like a donut on the outside. It would be where the back side of the crankshaft pulley would rest against it. What I do know is that the chain drive engine doesn't have this. Just thought I would throw that in. Any help would be great.

Can't say for certain. Spacer...seal retainer/protector...stiffener...pulley stabilizer. It doesn't have an individual part number.

Homer Simpson was exactly what came to my mind, too. I've had donuts on my brain for 48 hours now. I would love to have one of those white powdered bastages with vanilla icing on the inside...or even just a simple chocolate glazed donut would be sweet. Haines, forget Chinese. Let's gorge in donuts and then polish it off with a Starbucks latte.

I'm going to say additional dust/grass shield to help keep the seal area protected.
