I'm planning to have my M38 blasted. It's disassembled and ready to go. I'll start with the frame followed by the tube, fenders, hood, grill, windshield and tailgate. The paint shop is standing by to prime and paint afterwards. The blaster will be using silicone sand. I've read about blasting problems from pitting to warping. Should I be concerned?
Thanks,
Bill

Are you having it professionally done? I was quoted $450.00 for my Bantam Trailer tub and frame. I have been blasting myself in the backyard. Very time consuming and DIRTY!

It all depends on the guy doing it......... If the outfit is the gitter done with lots of pressure and sand type, your in trouble!..... If they have expierience with light gage steel then you will have no issues, all depends on expierience......

No I'm having it done @ $125 per hour. Is he professional? There are only two in the area that blasts; one works for a monument company and the other for a sign company. Both have done cars but to what degree? I'm going to begin with the frame. I guess I can see how it goes before committing the body and parts. Any issue with silicone sand?
