Hi Guys: Somewhere on this site I was reading information about rebuilding a L 134 chain drive engine. One of the areas of instruction was the FLOATO Oil pick up unit made by Taylor Mfg. in Elkhart Ind. The instruction said this unit has an o ring in the mounting tube. I saw the photo so I know yours had one, but my question is do all these have o rings? Mine doesn't. It didn't have one in it when I disassembled it. If I add the o ring to the tube, the carter key doesn't fit, but fits fine without the o ring. Can anyone clear this up?? I would like to mention that my L 134 is the gear drive, not the chain drive.

Thanks, Oilly. There was a lot of discussion about the gasket subject to leaking air if not sealed eight, so I was wondering about the tube joint leaking air and cutting down on oil pressure, but if the tube joint is in the oil that shouldn't matter, right???

Correct. I wondered the same thing. A point to check while cleaning things, is to remove the cover over the pickup screen. You can't see or get to the back unless you do. It almost always is full of bad stuff you don't want sucked in there. Mark it and put it back on the same way it was on. Oilly

I believe this discussion about o rings is someplace here,or on the CJ2A pages. I have seen a bunch with O rings. Maybe something folks did in their own.

Yea, I already disassembled it, cleaned it, but I didn't mark it like you said and that thing was a bitch to get back together I think I got it back together, but, Don't know for sure if it's the same way it was. Any words of wisdom, on that, would be certainly appreciated.
