Well, I loaded up the 1979 TT500 Yamaha dirty bike and went over to Wyo. to ride with my family. We left Newcastle and went North to Osage, and then 2 miles east into Wyoming's National Grassland. It's basically pine, cedar, shale, and clay deposits with hills, gulches, and many trees all scattered. In this area is a endurance trail network for motorcycles only. They run a world wide meet here annually. You must buy a Wyo. State Offroad sticker to ride there. What a tough bunch of wild and crazy trails. My Son in law and Grandson ride Green machines. Kawasaki KX 200 and a KX 85. Now you would think that a 500 CC big lung TT 500 would kick butt wouldn't you? The KX 85 will out run it. I kid you not. New stuff is amazing. It started out with me showing them trails and riding with them. Now it's me trying to keep up with them. Oilly got his butt kicked. He also was sore and hurt afterwards. Slept real well. Anyway, I'm amazed. At least at 62, I can go ride some tough stuff. That I'm grateful for and the smile on my Grandson's face is priceless. He asked: Grampa, can I ride your TT? I said sure. Off he went, wide open. came back and said: that thing is pretty fast. Dad videoed him. I just shook my head and said yep, especially with a 70 lb rider on it. it doesn't get any better when you can go ride with your family like this.

No Purple Rain here! After I watched some of Prince's movies, I cooled off. I grew up on Led Zeplin and Steppenwolf, Jimmie Hendrix, and the usuals, but Prince was farther out there for me. To each his own. Now when working on Jeeps and driving alone for distance, I listen to mostly country music. Still not into the 30's vintage country though. Seems the country is more soothing and easy to listen to. Once in a while I'll bounce back with AC DC and turn it up. I like both sides. I don't do Rap at all. Sorry. Old Hank way before that. Listening to Cobra sidepipes or a hot cammed BSA or thumper, now that is another kind of wonderful music. The sound of a Whistler Turbo is good too!

That sounds like a pretty fun day with grandpa! I hope you can get the grandson to the Dakotas so you can get him to experience your turf...on a slightly slower pace. Lol

Moosey, I already took him up on Crook Mountain and let him drive my 1952 M38A1 in low 4 wheel a bunch. He was 10 at the time. He liked it.

3 generations of Oilleakers out on the trail, I love it! The family that burns fossil fuels together stays together! Back in the '70s my rocket was a YZ360 yammerhammer. It was the beast back in the day..
