I was a part of a magnificent experience today. Last year I went through a bit of training to learn how to teach golf to people with both physical and mental disabilities, Today I got to put it into practice. The Orofessional Golfers Assiciation has developed the HOPE program (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere). We are using golf to engage them, to heal them and to bring about a self confidence and perseverance within themselves. I can do it attitude. Today is week two of the 8 week program. Luckily, there is a golf course 15 minutes away that is hosting the program for my area. I was 1 of 3 professionals, assisted by another 3 volunteers. Everyone else are veterans...many/most of the Vietnam generation and suffered of PTSD. Most of them are first time golfers. It is therapeutic for everyone to get together, to laugh, to smile... I drove the jeep there. They gave it rock star parking and we took a group picture afterwards. There were so many smiles by the guys as they walked up. We all know the story...it was like an old friend came to visit! I was so proud of that darn vehicle..,it is back doing what it was originally built (by me and my dad) to do...to honor our veterans, no matter what generation they were born. This is one more way that Warren's legacy bestowed upon me continues to shine.

William, that is a wonderful thing to take part in!, thank you for taking time from your life to help these veterans with theirs, a very noble thing indeed!. Now, if golf helps with mental disabilities, perhaps I need to crack out the clubs (yes I have a set), you say golf is therapeutic, then you have not played golf with me, it's hillarios, with my 78 handicap and ice cream pail of used golf balls I can make my way around most 9 hole courses and even have a couple left over. Anyway, thanks again for helping these fine people!.

⛳️ A hole-in-one as far as I’m concerned. Thank you for helping my brothers.

Oilly...I didn't get any in depth stories, but in this small group, one vet was a jeep driver for a Col or a General (I can't recall which he said), another drove a 3/4 ton, one was in Hawaii and they took some jeeps out to some unpopulated areas and "it was a miracle we didn't kill ourselves." The last one I heard was that one veteran drove something smaller than a jeep in Vietnam...a Mighty Mite!
