Just for Lee and Oilly! I just picked up a copy of the JP magazine this morning and there is a write-up about a 3B with a 3-53 Detroit Diesel 3cyl,SM420 for speed tranny, and Advance Adapters Atlas II transfer case. I haven't read it all yet, but it also says he built new frame. Interesting.

I'll have to pick up a copy, mine is a tall engine, but a 353 would be a challenge as well, if he sourced a gamma-goat 353, they were an aluminum block and had a GM 4 speed behind them... Interesting package!.

I picked the JP up because there is a write-up of the FCT, and there was the other story on the front page!

The Captain and I had a chat about our Kubota projects and the approach we are taking on front motor mounts. Then he dumps his knowledge of what designers normally do with mount orientation on production vehicles and totally screws with my mind. Now I have to back up the boat and think. You rotton Jeep guy!

It's simple!, flat mounts are easy, that's why everyone uses them..... Show me an automotive engine mount not mounted at an angle in the last 50 years, ? , flat mounts only controll up and down vibration, angled mounts controll vertical and horizontal vibration.....

I think the only motor mount I can remember that is flat is on a Jaguar. Possibly Chewy's 3500 pound blower engine also.
