Yes Jimbo has passed away. I am upset.. Don't quite know how to handle it. You see. You spend time chatting online with your Brothers in the Jeep world. They become like family. Without warning ....they are gone. I hate that.... If anyone has ideas on something special we as a group could do for him, they would be most welcome. Oddly enough, I just came across a box that Jimbo sent me a while back full of goodies, including his trademark Eugene the jeep sticker. He will be missed.

He could make a guy laugh for sure. A master drifter as well. The simple addition of a small Eugene to the Guidon we are proposing would immortalize/honor Jimbo. A sad day, I feel for you guys who knew Jimbo much better and longer than I.

Totally shocked!
What happened to him?
Rather than clutter up the proposed sticker, how about another one just for him ?.......... Is Eugene the Jeep a trademarked design.?
BTT!, when did he pass ?

Jim's Obituary After he mysteriously dropped out last mouth, I got curious and made the post asking about him this morning, nobody had heard from him. Then did a Google search trying to find a phone number or anything and his obituary popped up. Scout and HG confirmed it today. His last post was two days before he passed on.

Man, I'm sorry to read this. I like the idea of him being around, but just off the grid again.
We will think of something right to do. It doesn't have to be decided right now. Something that the rest of us, eventually, will be added to.
On a lighter side, I love his final words to us.

I have a hell of an idea for a memorial sticker, I'll be talking to the sticker guy anyway, I'll run it past him!, just need to get to the sticker guy before he closes, been working OT.

I have to say this. This is really bothering me. I want to have some great anicdote or final last words. This is different. This is one of the HG guys. I had no idea this was coming. I have dealt with loss. It's never easy. Too much this past year. I was supposed to go to the Raptor , Birds of Prey in SC. That didn't happen. Straddle Buggy... I don't even know what I am thinking, or how to feel.

I saw Scouts post of rest in peace and thought what does that mean? Brother Rick picked up on me not saying anything and called me. Sad empty feeling. I thoroughly enjoyed emailing, trading books, and talking history with Jimbo. I wondered why he was so quiet here lately and thought he must be away working. Surveying. I have his Christmas card sitting right next to me right now. Baugh Humbug it says! I guess that sums it up. He had quite the sense of humor. I'll miss him greatly. Take care my friend. I'll see you on the other side. I'd hoped to meet you and shake your hand. Talk some Custer. Have a HBR. Just isn't going to happen now. I'll raise a toast to your memory when the time is right. Oilly

I've been readings back through old threads and other correspondence with his words of unique wit.....
Yessir, We've really lost a good one... The good Lord just got him a true Southern gentleman...

Rest in peace Jim.
57 years old. When something like this happens to one of our own, it reminds me of our mortality. We are here for such a short time. Are we spending it in the best way possible?
I hope when my time comes, I will have no regrets.
Tim

Well done Sir!. I very much enjoyed his participation here in the Garage, in your pictures you posted, I remember the one with the bus in the background very well, I do not remember what the photo was for, but remember the chatter of the bus in the background, and the drift that followed, classic drift. Rest in peace my friend!

Maybe, beyond anyone's control, this was his last bit of humor he was able to cast upon us. I am sure Jim is in a wonderful place right now.
That is really creepy, though.
