Bummer....but good to see you using your head. More than once I've dragged home a trailer load of stuff that turned out to be way more work than it was worth. You quickly harvest all the goodies and then are left with a pile of large heavy iron you can't do anything with.
Keep looking. You'll find a better deal out there.
Edit: Any chance he'd let you pick parts? I've done that before too. Start waving $20's in his face for the 2A tailgate, -A1 spare tire bracket, etc etc. Take what you know you can sell without too much effort and leave all the rest.

Any 24V goodies on the A1?? If the loose F-head was from the A1 it's converted to 12V. I'm always lookin for 24V goodies for my spares.
