I hope you find this as humourless as I do. I turned 45 yesterday and my wife is already telling me that I'm on "the downward slope". Maybe she's right. Peep this, homes.
When I first got this jeep and started looking to replace parts and find parts that were missing, I worked on researching a cross-reference Liszt based on several sources that I gleaned from the "jeep guys" here in The Chuck. Beechwood Canvas has a nice source for this, but guys who've owned one or more of these were also very helpful in providing this information. Stuff like "oil filter for GPW is available at AutoZone/Oreilly/Napa" and corresponding part numbers. There was also some collected info on "Shi-Com crap parts" to avoid I'd stuck in. I collected said intel and put it in very nice chart format, along with many other bits of documentation which I thought would be helpful to me as I tried to pretend that I know what I am doing with this thing. [Since I lived in the UK so long, I didn't get my driver's license until I was almost 22 because at school I had to walk or bike and wasn't permitted a car anyway. I certainly never had a car to 'fix' (i.e. tear down, rebuild, etc, like real professional mechanics as most of you are...)] and only understand in principle how they even work - I digress.
Long story short, I've managed to LOSE ALL OF THIS RESEARCH. Yep, me, the frickn IT guy, can't find data. Domo Arigato, Mr. Detardo.
I musta grown up a little anyways, because instead of incinerating all my computers and throwing external hard drives in a spastic fit of rage, as usual, I quietly pushed away from the desk and moped downstairs. ugh. "It was hot up there anyway" I sighed, coming up with a lame excuse to give up. I thought about cracking open the birthday gift from my brother, but I wasn't suicidal - the bastard gave me a 40 oz Colt 45 as a joke.
If you are in possession of some collected cross-reference research or some handy URLs, would you be a gem and post it? Who knows, however unlikely it is to be true, I might not be the only dumba55 in the garage who can't properly work a computer. I could start all over again, but that would mean spending more time with a computer and I am not sure that is a good idea at the moment, ha ha.
