Sam was very dear to me as well you guys. Sam's grandson "Sammy" is going to take ownership of Sam's red jeep. A small group of us from the CFFC are buying SAMs other jeep and taking it to Mike's in Colorado to have it there for future FCTs in Sam's memory.

I never met Sam in person, but had many pm's back and forth. He always took interest in others projects.. A couple years back, I was researching enclosed trailers (I still have not pulled the trigger on one) he gave me several tips on the path he chose for a trailer, all good advise you only get from someone who has one, and has used it, LOL........ Being a moderator, he took heat for moving/deleting posts, Hey, someone had to do it!, kind of a Shepard for the lost sheep and kept the forum in order. Much needed on any forum, sometimes very funny, sometimes not........... As we lose our veteran Willys enthousiasts over time, we also lose the answers to many questions that these folks just knew off the tops of there heads, very hard to replace no doubt....... Rest in peace Sam, your in a better place. Thanks for posting the photo's jpet. Lee

I really wish I could have met Sam. As time goes by, friends pass, and there is a void. I think making new friends helps fill the void, but never replaces them. Keep the memories. John
