Today friend Rolf and I hit a swap meet at the MN state fair grounds Three Gas cans left is a prewar 1941 Nesco with the 2 lug cap, very rare. middle is a 42, right is a Rudy (Rudy gets first dibs) I also scored on a very nice M1 bayonet, I did not think it was WW2 till I got home and checked it out. $25, you should have bought a 100 back then!..... much like 1911 holsters, I remember them at gunshows in the early 70's for .25 each, now $50 and up, LOL

Plenty in Texas Professor, one just needs to get out and root in the pile.

Well done! Most bayonets got sharpened and used for deer hunting. I've never seen the 2 lug gas can before. I'm still waiting for the 1941 Jeep pile in a remote draw at a old ranch that's full of WW2 surplus Jeeps.

Cool finds! Just one question:How in the hell does all the good stuff always surface in Maine or Minny-sota? Global warming. This prehistoric junk has been encapsulated in the permafrost for generations. Now that the ice caps are receding we're discovering troves of Wooly Mammoth carcasses and Jeep parts.

I knew there was a perfectly good reason!
